You put the squid on the gotcha plug and said you caught the Albacore first cast. But I can clearly see you caught it on a spoon on a completely different set up. Nice fish tho tight linezz

This isn't his burner account or anything but maybe they edited the video together wrong. Because on the fish with the spoon you hear him say "Another Albie". So maybe he caught the first one with his bait then the one they show with the spoon type lure. And they showed him baiting up and then showed the footage from the wrong Albie.

Hey, I'm curious on how you are catching Spanish macks when the current water temp in North Carolina is around 60 degrees or lower. Spanish mackerels usually prefer water temps above 70 degrees. Is this an old video just recently uploaded, or maybe they are migrating south to Florida and are eating along the way down. Sorry, just puzzled.

@heyskipper Question....when casting around where the birds are, have you ever accidentally hooked a bird? And if so, what did you do? I'm.always worries about this andnot sure how is handle it. When I was younger there was a couple times my dad got hooked into a seagull and had the hardest time getting it unhooked.

What's a good do-it-all rod size for surf/beach/pier/jetty fishing? I only have a 5'6" UL rig and 3' Ugly Stik Dock Runner at the moment. I was looking at an Ugly Stik Bigwater 2-piece, 12', to pair with my 3000 reel, but I wondered if that was too big? Can one get by with a 8' or 10' for most applications?

In Hawaii we call it Kawakawa and it’s a great eating fish. We usually cut into chunks flour egg and panko and fry. Some people even prefer it over ahi. It is similar to aku (skip jack) and has a stronger fish taste that may be over putting to some which may be why they it’s not a great eating fish. It’s a huge deal when someone catches one from shore.

I know the same fish is called different things in different places. What you where calling Spanish Mackerel looks like what we in Australia call Shark Mackerel, what we call Spanish Mackerel are a lot bigger 30 to 60 lbs 3 to 5 ft long they have stripes instead of spots and are super tasty. Shark Mackerel are a throw back fish.
