For anyone who feels sorry for Edward VIII (David) just remember he had Nazi connections. It wasn’t just something made up for the series, they even show actual photos of him and Wallace meeting Hitler and other high ranking Nazi officials pre-WWII. And it’s believed he was made Governor of Bermuda in order to move him away from the war and any German connections he may have kept. Plus, it’s also thought that had the Nazis successfully invaded Britain, Hitler would have made Edward king again. Otherwise, this is a very good scene, one of the series’ best. Edit: And for anyone in the U.K., on All4 there should be a documentary, Edward VIII: Britain’s Traitor King that goes into detail on his Nazi relations, and Mrs Wallace’s too.

@ruperttmls7985

It’s much sadder to watch this now that her Majesty’s no longer with us. My condolences to the people of England. May she rest eternally in peace knowing she has done a wonderful job for so long she is definitely missed by people all over the world.

I think the way Matt Smith portrayed Prince Phillip was totally false. The real Prince Phillip was a man of duty and dedication who knew precisely what his role was in relation to the crown.

Fantastic scene but I can't help but feel distracted because Edward's actor looks so much like Nigel Farage in this scene

Don't bei silly! The Champions League's hymn was modelled to resemble the grandeur of Handel's Coronation Anthem "Zadok, the priest"!

Random thought: How would Mariah Carey sing “Zadok the Priest”?
@dchswroboe7569

You cannot even think to put Mariah Carey aside the divine Händel. She’s trash. Pure trash. It’s a sacrilege. Let’s put it like this. It would be the same if some child from a sitcom played Hamlet. I hope it never even came to her mind to sing Händel, beyond the fact it’s not her genre.

I wonder if most people realize what it means when we shout “God save the Queen”. We are praying for the eternal salvation of her Majesty through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. This should be our prayer for all humankind.

The fact that God chooses ordinary people to show His glory. Not extraordinary people to show their glory which is prideful. Humility helps us draw near to Him and be blessed by His grace. All the glory and honour to Jesus 🙏🌸💫
