Takes me back to the early 80s when I used to listen to this tune. Thank you for posting 👏

This is one of those tracks you want to listen to after getting home from a hard day at your job. Smooth, laid back and mellow type of tune. No wonder I would hear this track moments after my father gets home. It would tell me that my dad needs a bit of time to relax. It was a message to me.

The first recording I ever heard by the Crusaders was my late uncle's copy of Pass The Plate. That was before I knew anything about music. Then when I became a teenager, a neighbor had a copy of the 2nd Crusade. I was hooked. And that was the Golden Age of the group. They achieved a good deal of fame and crossover appeal during the 70s.

What a great group! One of my all-time favorite groups. Encompassing funk jazz, classic jazz, blues jazz contemporary jazz etc. This album/CD, in it's entirety is nothing short of incredible. If you don't have it you MUST get it for your collection. Whatever your pleasure sit back, lay back and enjoy the mighty CRUSADERS...

The Good Times T.V. show and the Jeffersons T.V. show Movin on Up theme song singer, actress, songwriter, the late Ja'net Dubois KZitem song, Me Myself and I drummer Marc Hicks. While recording with Dubois, at the same time Janet Jackson was taping Good Times also with Dubois, I landed a gig with Wilton Felder. My album, as supervised by Wilton, Destination Learning Solstice, is on Amazon. You can listen to samples of the songs for free at marchicks.hearnow.com/. Photos of Wilton and I and upcoming album info is at (my name backwards) Hicks Marc on Twitter and Facebook. I shall miss Wilton, he was and is my friend and musical father.

Mr. Hicks. Thank you for you and the Crusaders contribution to both Jazz and US culture. I just happened to stumble on your comment. My friend and colleague Yugen Rashad has a weekly jazz show called: “The Motif: Re-Imagine a Jazz Sensibility” airs weekly on KBOO radio FM 90.7. It airs tomorrow 3/6/2021 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. You can tune in via the web. He’s doing a tribute to the CTI label era. I’m sure he’d love to talk to you on or off air. Thank you again🙂

Is it me, or did Donald and Walter (Steely Dan) borrow heavily against this for Gaucho?
