Excellent job! You hit most of the pertinent points of her story, and did a fantastic job with the modeling. I especially love how you captured her ruddy brown color that served well as camouflage on our muddy rivers in the South and also allowed her to blend in against the dirt of the riverbanks.

@@belugasub7852 I rewatched this today, since this is the time of year that the short but spectacular life of the C.S.S. Arkansas happened during. This was really a great video, and I'm happy I suggested the Arkansas to you. I don't know how your weather is, but here deep in the American South, it is hot and humid in the extreme. I Look forward to watching more of your videos when I get the chance, I've been very busy at work and caring for an elderly relative lately though.

Much appreciated, but next time a few more details wouldn't hurt. Arkansas' solo dash thru Farragut's fleet outside Vicksburg was one of the most spectacular feats in naval history.

I first read about the CSS Arkansas in a non-fiction book authored by Clive Kussler, who also found the resting place of her hull. I think her story would make an epic movie, but it is impossible these days of political correctness to have anything that puts any part of the Confederacy in a positive light. Mores the pity. Nice job on this! Thanks for putting it together!

Still it can be done. Since Arkansas gets destroyed in the end the Movie could be like Sink the Bismarck with the Arkansas causing havoc and focusing on the Union's attempts to stop her.

I think This was the best ironclad the confederates built. It only engaged in essentially 2 actions reliving and then defending Vicksburg but the beating it took was insane. it was successful in that it forced Farragut back into the gulf and wrecked every ship that tried to fight it. Being driven damaged to baton rouge was a horrible decision though. It wrecked itself without even fighting. It currently lies sunk in a breaking yard in Baton Rouge to this day rotting in a pile of ancient barges. Probably too late to salvage anything impressive

A Video in the C.S.S. Shenandoah would be great. It was the best Warship on the Ocean using Wind and Steam Power. It was Armoured and the Confederates were the first to put Armour on Fighting Vessels. The C.S.S. Shenandoah fought around the World for about a year after the War was over. It sank no telling how many Merchant Ships. Crews of one of the Merchant Ships showed Newspapers about the war being over and the Confederates didn't believe it. It is a amazing story of a Warship way ahead of it's time.

@@belugasub7852 I have studied the C.S.S. Hunley. Brave men that died making the first successful attempt to Sink a Warship with a true submersible. I hope to go to the Museum one day. But I will look for your video because there are always other information that probably has been over looked. Even though I am a Memphis Native I never knew about the C.S.S Arkansas abd Tennessee so I really enjoyed your video. I have studied all aspects of the Civil War and the 45 years of Protectionism that caused the war but in no way I have I scratched the surface of the History of the War. A man can spend a lifetime just studying one Major Battle. Rebel Yell by S.C Gwynne about the life of Stonewall Jackson has some great details about the Battles of Jackson and other Battles. It is a great book.
