The Seto are an indigenous group in southeastern Estonia, mostly made up of Orthodox Christians of Estonian nationality. Join World Nomads as we travel to Obinitsa, an old Seto village in the Setomaa region, to discover the traditions and culture of the Setos. Here, we briefly enter Russia, visit a sacred place known as God’s Hill, and celebrate Easter the Estonian way. We discover that the Setos may have lost their land due to conflict, but the strength of their heritages proves that tradition and culture supersede political borders.
