Congratulations on your anniversary of your sobriety! That’s a huge milestone. I’m so happy that you’ve managed to turn your life around, because you have given so many gifts to us. Your video on writing a country song is one I have revisited so many times. It’s a huge inspiration for me, the reminder that I need that failure isn’t something to avoid, but part of what makes art great. Thank you so much, sending you lots of love on this important moment.

I hope one day when drugs are destigmatized It will be able to live these wonderful exploratory medicines. Drugs aren't bad just people's perception of them

Fun fact here from a Spanish speaker, the screenshot you showed that said "El Firulais 😂😂😂" shows the exact same thing you're trying to prove. "Firulais" is actually a word we use to name a generic dog and it comes from the English "free of lice". But most Spanish speakers who use this word don't know this.
@struthless

Stoked you caught this! This was actually a considered decision for this exact reason! I wasn't sure if it'd just slip by, but the parallel was too perfect to pass up (my Spanish is rusty these days... if you don't use it you lose it, but I'm not losing firulais any time soon jajaja)

Wow, loved the way you wrapped it up and the bow at the end was👌😌 Humans are naturally symbolic creatures. We use symbols, line them up in sequence, in parallel, in all sorts of wondorous ways. Thats story, isnt it? And struthless, you tell excellent ones. Edit: wording
@DaimonTrilogy

Do not take this in any bad way. I though feel the need to touch on this: The world is full of symbolism (just think about how bees work) and the statement of yours is a mystification of the human race. Why is that necessary? Is there a reason for you to mystify the human race? I just cannot understand this concept of glorification of the own race. The only thing I can imagine that it is important for people to feel superiority and bath within it for their own pleasure. If you have another reason for it, please share. I want to understand this.
@Henle_
11 ай бұрын
@@DaimonTrilogy Oh 😂 I wasn't exactly going for that lol. Since our ability to use and interpret symbols is unique, in that way humans are "superior." But in many other respects humans can't even compare with other animals of course. I didn't mean to be ostentatious about that, I just really liked his final point about the ☯ symbol.

Been really loving this documentary series! And congrats on the anniversary! Gotta say tho, even emojis run into a problem. If words like "going down the rabbit hole" aren't meant literally, then there is no way you can properly translate that back to any other language using emojis. Still it's a pretty fun idea. I remembered a couple of days ago all the lyrics videos with emojis instead of text and been wondering what happened with that, so was intruiged when I saw this vid pop up.

Bang on the money!! Idioms and connotations are the real milestone that I think IALs can often overlook (although I love seeing conlangs come up with their own con-slang, like silly water in toki pona). That story took a turn from big to even bigger. Again! The underground store in Finland is the exception rather than the rule - most nuclear waste is sitting in drums at the nuclear power station that produced it - for this very reason. The most obvious symbol at the moment would be the nuclear hazard symbol, although I guess you do find it in popular culture too. The other option is the Genghis Khan tomb approach - divert a river over it and kill all the workers (maybe don't do that bit!). Basically leaving it to get lost in mythology and time. This one did work - although obviously people are still looking for it. I would definitely play on the large concrete blocks! Congrats on your soberversairy!

Reasonable accuracy is a strong word. Whenever I see these emoji translations they tend to make some heeeeefty logical leaps. They don't generally simplify the story they're translating into concepts that the emojis can actually accurately represent and when those complex sections come up they can very quickly become unreadable. For example, 👇🐱🐱🐱 was in the wonderland translation and even with the text being translated from displayed next to it I still don't know what it means. Because it was not "down cats" or "down three cats". I *think* it was translating "no, not the cats", but I can't actually be sure of that, even with the text right next to it.

Congratulations on an extremely interesting collection of ideas (reminded me a bit of James Burke's Connections books and TV shows, which I intend as a serious compliment). I shared this video with my daughter who just yesterday was discussing yin-yang with a fellow student in her high school art class. He thought it was a reinforcer of racist ideas. She argued it was not. I thought this could help her argument. Congratulations also on sobriety, a continuing story without a particular end, as are all the most powerful and beneficial ideas.
