So glad you enjoyed this video about the Richard Neutra designed house. Love his architecture. He was way ahead of his time I think and he had many innovative ideas.

@@philippa.schaedler5187 Yes, indeed, Philippa. A brilliant man. Sadly, brilliance is rarely appreciated by the masses when it first appears. It always disturbs the Comfort Zone.

Very true Chuck, the midcentury designs are my most favorites and you are right really should be appreciated. So many little details went into each of Neutra's design. When you actually get the chance to walk through one of his designs you'll notice all the little details he gave so much attention to. And these details were very practical in daily use. You don't see that so much in today's designs.

@@philippa.schaedler5187 Yes, if anymore come up for sale please film them, love seeing the kitchen, utilties and bathrooms. No one seems to take great pictures of those rooms and Neutra was so inventive with those spaces. I had never heard about the trash can, so awesome.

@@Slippedndipped Yes, Neutra must have been thinking about architecture 24/7 because he was so very creative and very detailed oriented with the focus to make life easier for its inhabitants. For sure, if I come across another Richard Neutra designed home, I will post it here. This particular property is for sale at the moment for the right buyer. :-)

That could be a danger indeed. Luckily you don't have to be near that fireplace. Houses were built so differently those days.

This home feels like Neutra's version of a Usonian home. I am guessing that in 1961 it cost $35,000 to build. Correct me if I am wrong. The house was modern for its time but there is something about the design that leaves me cold.

Hi Stephen. When walking into the Cytron house, you definitely see and experience the Richard Neutra vibe / design style. I am not sure what the original price was but I would think you are pretty close with that estimate. While Richard Neutra houses were seen as very modern, ahead of its time, often with so many hidden and very practical and very clever details, this house does lend a cold visual sense to me as well. This was my first Richard Neutra house I toured in person. Was a lot of fun discovering the house and learning about its history from the daughter who grew up in that house.

...lots of interesting features detailed. In the past I saw other video (and photos) in where the views were too "general". I think still is a bit overpriced. The patio area have good potential. Is far from everywhere.

This is a beautiful home but, at the time this video was made, looks like it needs a lot of work on the interior. The bathrooms are a bit outdated as well as parts of the kitchen. Hopefully the new owners have addressed many of the outdated issues. I have a friend who worked for the Neutras and the foundation for many years.

It gives me the impression of being a fragile house, the walls and the windows themselves...they don't seem very solid to me. It looks like a house that can easily collapse in a storm.

There were no real building codes back then. You could build virtually any damned thing you wanted, anyWHERE you wanted to build it. Check out some of John Lautner's crazy hillside homes. Those were the days when we truly had freedom.

I appreciate your input, however when we shot the video it was to help sell the property and a walk through video is always very helpful for off site buyers. We sold it for asking price, so mission accomplished.
