Loving the videos - a video on how to make breaks like Phasmid or Denham Audio would be sick too!

Oo actually just thinking that one on Dismantle would be sick (tunes likes Ghost or Feature Presentation)

Can you do one on MJK’s music and the grime techno sounds of Obligated Records new VA? x

Good shout. Al Wootton and others on Livity Sound make this too. I’ve been struggling to define a genre but grime techno is a good name. The MJK track on the Obligated VA would be a perfect choice

Very helpful video man! I'm very much a novice with production so a lot of your artist-specific videos go over my head as I struggle to understand the intentionality behind all the decisions you make (not your fault I just need more knowledge). I would love to see more videos like this one where you go in depth on specific aspects of production and explain in simpler terms why you do things in a certain way. I loved your video on chopping and layering breaks from a couple years ago as well. I also think they'll help me become a better producer as here you teach skills that help you craft your own sounds rather than emulating what other artists are doing. Still love your artist specific videos and I'm sure that's what most of your audience are interested in, but I find this way more helpful at my current level. Especially since no one else is really making tutorials around UK underground music at your level of quality.

Glad you got a lot out of this! There'll be a combination of this in-depth/beginner friendly stuff and the 'in the style of' going forward most likely. Probably some short-form content as well.

This was very informative. One question, why do you disable Snap in every sample?

It's a 'default' within simpler. You'd need to load a sample into simpler, take snap off, delete the sample, then right click 'save as default'.
