It’s quite fitting because this was Rafa’s 1000 professional match. Sums him up quite well, no matter the score, he’s gonna fight until the end. Always wants to improve 💥

ONLY Rafa has this DNA, a tenacity and resiliency believing in himself that he can CONQUER and gain VICTORY at the end. He has the BRAIN of a MIGHTY WARRIOR that never gives up. He never lets negative emotions or bad temper controls him like breaking the racket or showing anger. He stays cool and calm and use his BRILLIANCE to WIN.

This is an old game but very interesting bec. It magnifies Rafa’s personality and his inner man as a fighter that “never gives up”. He believes in himself that he can WIN at the end and his lost score at the beginning doesn’t matter. Love ❤️ you Rafa for your determination….very inspiring…We can learn a very important moral lesson in life “NOT TO GIVE UP” but press on until we WIN 🏆 and gain the VICTORY. GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!

It's incredible to see how many players have cycled through and were not able to hold a top 10 or a top 20 for more than a year or so and then seeing the big 3 each holding a top 10 ranking for a decade, and mostly in the top 5 for entire decade and more.

2017 was such a strange year for Nadal. It featured some of the best tennis of his career (clay season), some very good tennis (US Open), decent level (Australian Open), and then strangely bad performances (most of the hard court Masters). Ended it off with a couple injuries that made for a rough end to the season.

I’d say his Australian open level was really good, he would’ve won it if Federer wasn’t at one of the highest levels he’d ever been that year
@SJ-di5zu
Жыл бұрын
@@neb6208 There were moments. He played kinda poorly against Zverev tbh, but then he played well against Raonic and was very clutch against Dimitrov. Okay level against Monfils too. But in the final he was just… flat. Honestly one of his worst played grand slam finals imo, just below AO19 and Wimbledon 2011 (and AO 2014 where he got hurt). He came out flat, had a 3rd set slump, and obviously Federer redlined in the final set, but Nadal could’ve also played cleaner for sure, especially in the 4-3 game where he fell down 0-40 off 2 UEs and a double fault.
@neb6208
Жыл бұрын
@@SJ-di5zu yeah I guess relative to everyone else he could’ve won but in terms of how he played vs his other performances yeah not too amazing. Still wish he won that though, he had his chance in the 5th. Really wish he won in 2012 AO too, that was very high level from both him and nole
@SJ-di5zu
Жыл бұрын
@@neb6208 AO 2012 hurt, just because winning such a long match would’ve been legendary and in retrospect beating Djokovic at the AO and ending his undefeated run in finals right there would’ve been great. But these losses don’t hurt much anymore tbh. Nadal has stolen so many matches from both of them that he was bound to drop a couple. And now he’s won AO22 from down 2 sets and, really it just feels like it makes up for so much. RG22 is the cherry on top. Also makes RG21 a lot more manageable.
@neb6208
Жыл бұрын
@@SJ-di5zu yeah that’s true, I swear this year nadal is going to redeem so much. There’s 4 matches I think abt a lot and had nadal won them nadal would be indisputable goat, AO 2012, AO 2017, Wimbledon 2018, (These 3 nadal was very close ans could’ve easily gone his way) and RG 2021 which hurt, but for what’s to come I think nadal will be redeeming himself for sure. I hope he can win the calendar slam this year
