Another thing to consider with Randy is, think of the 2 guys writing the show. They started about 30 years ago. In their early 20s when they laughed at dumb stuff. Nothing wrong with that, but the 2 lads even said they are embarrassed by the first 3 seasons which makes complete sense. They grew up, they got older , life started happening to them, married, kids all that wonderful stuff. I think another reason randy became more of a central character to the show is because they began to relate more to the adults and see funnier things that adults can get up than, than to stan and kyle

My dad was the biggest reason I stopped liking sports early on. He'd get like this at all my little kid baseball games then it bled into soccer etc. As I got older, I'd tell my mom NOT to invite him to my games so I wouldn't be embarrassed. There's a lot of oddball behavior in sports that gets shoved under the rug because of its popularity. Of course, I took to music instead which has been a source of him being disappointed in me. What's even funnier is that he just sat and drank beer so it's not like he did anything athletic with or in front of me either. Yet he acted like me not being an athlete meant I now have nothing life. Still doesn't understand why my mother left him and upgraded.
