It was 1984 when Bob Geldof after seeing a BBC report about a horrible famine in Ethiopia that killed hundreds of thousands of people he decided, along with his partner, musician Midge Ure, created a charity Christmas single together named "Do They Know It's Christmas? "featuring Phil Collins, U2, and Duran Duran along with many other artists, but the proceeds were not enough for the region's plight, with the crisis continuing in Ethiopia and neighboring Sudan also affected by famine, Geldof proposed live aid, marking the beginning of his most memorable project, an ambitious global charity concert aimed at raising more funds and awareness of the plight of many Africans, and changing with music, the fate of a vital part of our world.
