Here I am today, September 2024. My husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer 2yr ago & given only 3mths. 2 yr later, he is now at the end stage, home from hospice & lying in his bed. Im gazing out of the window at grey clouds & this song came to my mind... still a sweet, soulful classic ❤

To everyone coming back to this song from time to time, congratulations! For whatever reason, to feel nostalgia, hear Wendy belt out one of the greatest songs ever, remember a great/horrible moment in your life, or just to feel again, you're now irrevocably linked to all of us. Such a great song!
30 years on and this song still brings a tear to my eye . A defining point in my life all those years ago aged 18. Thank you Wendy

While the song might be about losing a lover, the chorus rocked our world when we lost our mother on a gorgeous day. It broke my father more than anyone, so today on his passing this again becomes so meaningful (yeah, I cried.) I really hope you see this Wendy - I was too young to appreciate your beauty when you sang this, but please understand your soul is far more beautiful than your face and this performance will echo through the ages.

Hey, does it ever make you wonder what's on my mind Hey, I was only ever running back to your side I never cried, I just watched my life go by It's just a pack of lies, 'cause you're leaving me behind After this long is there nothing I'll keep Oh I can shout You'll pretend you're falling asleep I never lied, yeah believe it, let your mind It's just a waste of time, 'cause you're leaving me behind Hey, there's not a cloud in the sky It's as blue as your goodbye And I thought that it would rain, on a day like today. Hey, there's not a cloud out in sight It's as blue as your blue goodbye And I thought that it would rain, the day you went away. Hey, does it ever make you wonder what's on my mind Ooo yeah, I was only ever running back to your side Hey, there's not a cloud in the sky It's as blue as your goodbye And I thought that it would rain, on a day like today. Hey, there's not a cloud out in sight It's as blue as your blue goodbye And I thought that it would rain, the day you went away. Hi. I'm a massive fan of the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden and Pink Floyd. A genre far removed from the likes of this song. This song, however, must be one of the most beautifully written and performed songs I have ever heard. You say it's sad for "us" and that you know Wendy doesn't like performing it. May I ask why? Do you know Wendy? If so I'd be quite jealous. She's a great and beautiful talent...

This song always makes me cry. I lived in Australia for two years when I was younger and someone sang this on a show. Hooked. when my aunt died in England 4 years ago, this was the song I kept hearing in my mind. Today, a dear uncle (my dad's best friend) passed away very suddenly. This song brought me here. Heartbroken. Good people go too soon. Too damn soon.

My gosh, I was 12 when it was on Rage in 1992. It reached the top 5 if I remember right hit #2 against stiff competition from guns and roses and miles cyrus’ dad. The song was great on its own but the visuals just perfect for it. The scene where the vase gets poured over his head added to the playful young love recollections, and when she sneaks up on him on the dock and they roll around smooching a storm…lucky they didn’t roll into the water ☺️soul to soul, wendy I love your style 👍
