I'm gonna share my favorite Kobe moment. I'd love to hear yours. When we were getting blown out by Boston in Game 6 I watched the whole beatdown. The look on Kobe's face, the regret, the pain, the loss all told me we were winning the chip the next year. And he kept that serious never smiling face all the way through to the 2009 finals where the job was finally finished. In retrospect, it's even more memorable because of what he didn't do, throw his teammates under the bus or beg for more help

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant’s mannerisms, appearance, and preparation for the game replicated each other. Perhaps their most similar trait was their work ethic and the passion and love for the sport of basketball. Both demanded greatness not only from their teammates and those around them but from themselves. Kobe Bryant continued to be among the top players in the league through the 2012-13 season, when he suffered a torn Achilles tendon at age 34. His next two seasons were cut short by injuries to his knee and shoulder, respectively. Citing physical decline, Bryant retired after the 2015-16 season.

As a Kobe guy, even I cannot place him as the "Greatest" player of all-time above someone like Jabbar who dominated both NCAA and NBA at an unprecedented level. Bryant was maybe the most skilled player I ever saw, certainly the most explosive. While defamed by sports critics and robbed of MVP's by the NBA I still got Mamba ahead of Steph, Bird, LeBron, Shaq and Duncan.
@mike_tkgchs

Others also argue that Kobe is the same as Lebron because Kobe also asked the Lakers to trade him in 07 or 08. First of all, Kobe wanted to leave LA when they were loosing, he had a trash team. Lebron left a claveland team who had the best record in the league, big difference there. And second, even if Kobe did want to be traded in 07, it doesn't really affect his goat case, because the fact that it did not push thru, then his goat case will be measured by his years in LA with pau gasol, and he made the most out of it, just as he would have made the most out of wherever circumatance he would have been, if he was traded. In my opinion Lebron's goat case is not weak because he switched from team to team. It is weak because he won so little even after switching from team to team. If he joined wade and bosh and won a three peat, then joined kyrie and kevin love and won another three peat, then another one ring with AD, then we could discuss if he is the goat. but lebron won so little for all the help he had.
@IsaacMSingleton1
19 күн бұрын
Looking back at the teams LeBron stacked, it's insane to think he didn't pull off a single 3 peat, and the only championship he defended was the ray Allen shot in game 6. Kobe in the 🐐 discussion is LAUGHABLE! Kobe was coming off the bench his rookie season while LeBron was representing team USA in the Olympics! Kobe had 3 other All Stars on his team (something LeBron NEVER had!) Shaq, Jones and Van Exel and didn't win a title. Kobe was Robin to Shaq's Batman for 3 straight titles. Shaq who's a top 10 player ALL TIME btw leaves LA (cause Kobe was jealous of Shaq, shot LA out of the Finals in 04, called the cops on Shaq and got boo'd at Staples because of it) wins a title with Wade in just his 2nd season without Kobe. Kobe however missed the playoffs in his prime while being regarded as the best player in the NBA because he needed Phil's triangle offense. Phil returns, Kobe makes the playoffs but blows a THREE-ONE LEAD! Went through the weakest Western conference ever in 09-2010, most misses in NBA history even though LeBron played 2 more full seasons. Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy exposed the NBA in an interview where he stated the NBA higher ups told him and other refs to give Kobe special treatment! MJ and LeBron. Kobe isn't even top 5! 💯
