Fun fact: The reason they didn't use the 3090 for the waterblock video is because THEY LOST IT. Billet Labs sent them a 3090 specifically to test with, it just got thrown on a shelf somewhere and they couldn't find it before shooting the video, so in classic LTT fashion they just said "whatever, who cares" and made the video anyway. A few weeks later Linus finds the 3090 just sitting on a shelf. However, LTT employees are also known for "borrowing" things from the office AKA "Stealing shit off the shelf without telling anybody", so it's possible after the GN video happened an employee quietly left the 3090 back on the shelf

@@gorkskoal9315 Here's the thing, it's worse than if they fucked up a regular review to me. It's the only glimpse or source of information on a small company most viewers will ever see, especially given how they mishandled the prototype so badly. They have a responsibility to evaluate the product properly, not just to billet labs, but to their viewers, and all the work they've put into building a reputation over the years. They've potentially ruined a small company off a snap judgement and done it while farcially failing at properly testing the item in question. Then to add injury to injury, auctioned off the prototype to buyers they haven't managed to track down and retrieve the prototype from. Then, rather than acknowledge the understandable if unacceptable breach of care that resulted in this, they attempted to shift blame to multiple parties they have injured through their slander and libel. They could have resolved the situation at any point by picking any number of other choices. Like cutting the conclusions when they were in fact informed that a 4090 was not expected to function correctly, and making it an initial hands on video without placing incorrect numbers from an invalid test, retesting it properly, or any number of decisions, including just scrapping the video if it's really not worth spending any more money on it. Steve calling them out publicly is honestly the least they can expect when they also publicly state that their careless testing is better than theirs. The people who made the entire thing public was LMG, not GN. You don't sit back and let a 'friend' try to destroy your life's work, since you have their phone number. Legitimately interested at this point. I've enjoyed LTT since the start but the bigger he got the more arrogant and disconnected he became; the Billet "review"- from the first scene - was an exercise in arrogance, ignorance, poor management, poor film-making and poor prep. He walked into the studio that day with almost no real prior knowledge of the product, where the team hadn't properly prepped and even admitted they'd done the pre-testing on different equipment than what they gave Linus - and rather than call bullshit on the testing he brushed it off as Billet's problem while also taking, at one point, power tools to the WRONG-SIZED components to make it all fit - that was not journalism, or even a review; that was open egotism and sensationalist broadcasting. A review is where shop-bought components are used to provide real-world data to end consumers, so we know what we can expect when WE buy therm. Also Billet provided the correct GPU along with the cooling block for testing - but the GPU was lost while in LTT possession so they didn't have it available when filming - so LTT decided to test the cooler on the wrong GPU, which Billet are quoted as saying "might work but was untested" (the 4090 has a marked increase in heat output, which LTT didn't acknowledge while also slating the cooler and their poor test results - Billet DO have a cooler designed for the 4090 but this wasn't it) - so the entire exercise was flawed beyond belief. Linus did, at least, note Billet's ingenuity - but this was sent to LTT as a PROTOTYPE - you don't review a prototype, in much the same way as a game in alpha- or beta-testing should not be reviewed in the same manner as the 1.0 release. Billet sent the cooler to LTT looking for constructive feedback; instead their product got bombed - and let's not even talk about the legality of the auction. GN is NOT an entertainment platform - it's a REVIEW AND INFORMATION PLATFORM. And yeah, Steve IS boring - he provides flat, scientific, mathematical research data, as accurately as he can, for those that need it and want it. Occasionally he's borderline autistic in the attention to detail which can be overloading and off-putting for many. If that's not for you or me, then fair play - but at least he's honest, and the graphs are useful. All KZitemrs who monetise their content have bias - we ALL have bias - but GN at least try to negate that to whatever degree, however successfully. I watch Steve and Hardware Unboxed for information, when I REALLY need to know data - I tend to watch LTT and Jayz2C for the entertainment - but where Jayz2C crosses the border between entertainment and info, Linus has become more and more about the drama and the shock value and to hell with any semblance of realism or reality - all LMG's output is now monetized - they are a MEDIA group now, not just a tech review channel. Just in case you had doubts about Linus' motivations: LTT's much-hyped screwdriver is $70 - did it ever occur to you that you can buy the on eBay for $5 with more attachments but without the logo - or even from your local hardware store? The dude is a shill, and if he can entertain you out of your money then he's won, and that's become the entire point of LMG - it's a media group after all - the tech is now a side-line, even in the name. But hey - a least you're entertained, right? I've just noticed that you also have a KZitem channel. Congrats on the 20k subs - do you aim to inform, or entertain? It's an important decision. The reason so many people are so angry is that Linus is still portraying himself as a source of information - he doesn't acknowledge that he's become an entertainer instead and is really just going after the money. It's no coincidence that LMG was valued at $100,000,000. And this is why people feel betrayed.

Some of the stuff she's complaining about is literally women being treated equally like men just like women have been saying they want for decades like telling her to put her big girl pants on and be more assertive. Men get things by being assertive and sometimes women don't get that, it's like they think it's literally for existing as men. Men dying in wars among other things was a major reasons men got the vote first, it wasn't literally just for being men like women think. At the end of the day men voted to let women vote, they didn't have to. The irony is when women got the vote they weren't drafted so men were dying for women's rights so women didn't have to, women are literally the ones expecting equal things without equal responsibility or input JUST for being women. Even morbidly obese women expect equal things like a chance at the most desirable men like pretty women when they could just date fat men, but they don't want to because they're hypocrites. Most spending is actually by women anyway because of spending men's money, still women complain about not earning equally without asking why, but then expect men to earn more, how is that supposed to work? How are men suppose to make equal yet more money when women are going to expect to spend men's money despite making their own anyway? Average women can bang all the top 5% men they want but then when they don't get marriage because they're easy, they just expect average men to wife that and have the audacity to shame men that refuse to when she's likely to cheat and even with proof men are punished in divorce. It's not hard for women to rationalize over the years that 100% consensual things was 'r*pe' literally for just feeling shame and regret after and then playing 'victim', especially when it happens to be a guy they see as above them in some sense. Women don't get these things at all, what it's like when men are expected to be seen as superiors in some way to get attraction from women to begin with but men are also expected to be the one to make the move knowing they're risking 'sexual harassment' which could be complete BS or women exaggerating something that happened 10-20 years ago or just completely making shit up without evidence. Men just avoid women at work then they complain about that.

Same here man. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to tech or computers, so when I'm trying to find out if something is worth my money or I just need tech tips, I have to rely on people who know more about things than I do. I stopped watching LTT when it became clear to me that I can't rely on what they're saying, and it certainly didn't help that Linus was lowkey treating his employees like garbage on screen and seemed just like the worst boss I ever had.. the one who got visibly irritated and annoyed by the slightest mistake (or someone simply saying something he didn't like). Linus clearly let all the fame and money go to his head, and to nobody's surprise it made the content worse. This was just the final nail in the coffin for me. I can't trust anything this guy says anymore after seeing so many lies and attemps to avoid responsibility, and even if I could I wouldn't want to support yet another egotistical idiot who thinks his success is all due to his own brilliance. But the channel quickly soured the first time I watched it for a few weeks trying to figure out how to build a budget pc as there's this looming smugness with them, mostly Linus. How he would mock and laugh at "inferior" computer parts constantly. And how he always aggressively has this "Oh this processor or this graphics card is pathetic" vibe to him. I was broke, I couldn't afford those thousand dollar pc parts and I wasn't planning on buying them. I built my first PC with the help from the tutorials of other channels. Yes of course they've reviewed and done more with the top tier components, that's what companies send they send the newest and greatest products and expect LTT or other brands to review and promote them. I'm not trying to make excuses for LTT and nothing I'm talking about has anything to do with what this video was about, just giving my 2 cents to what you said. Side note did you ever build that PC? I stumbled on a couple of LTT videos years ago that were relevant to a topic I was looking into at the time that I was relatively unfamiliar with. And those seemed really well done and informative. So I subscribed to the channel and started watching a lot more of their stuff. But I soured on the channel pretty quickly. After watching quite a few videos dealing with things I was already intimately familiar with it became obvious that these people holding themselves up as tech experts had only a very cursory understanding of most of the things they were offering authoritative takes on. How that channel ever became the gold standard for all things PC/Tech/Gaming related is actually pretty baffling.

Basically, his TikTok-style energy and jokey, casual presentation style made him popular with people that don't watch tech videos. And so on and so forth. The other issue is, folks generally don't like to accept being wrong. . I've had folks I know come to me for advice on buying components, trying to pick from some examples in some LTT video. I'd show the numbers from far more reputable places (sometimes, just GN...other times, multiple links to several other places at once) and offer my advice on what to purchase instead. One of the things that irks me so much about Linus's billet labs conclusion is that enthusiasts pay obscene amounts of money for slight performance improvements or unique configurations. Just look at mineral oil cooled PCs from the past. They didn't perform all that much better, they were a massive risk, required special components (because the mineral oil would eat some rubbers/plastics), a special case/fishtank that was prone to cracking/failing, hundreds of dollars of mineral oil, and the components were forever committed to that build because you could never ever get them clean again. Linus even did a video pointing all that out but still liked the idea despite all the impracticality. Versus now where he trashes something that isn't actually all that far away from the mainstream.
