Africa did quite well during Covid without money and assistance from international organizations. In fact, some would argue it did better because it didn't get that help. Sweden who suffered it's population with the least restrictions, mask-mandates, vaccine mandates, quarantine and distancing, also did better than it's European peers.

Very interesting talk. Thank you for sharing your opinions about Baha’i teachings. Dialog on these subjects is very important! Much more of such dialogue is very timely. I will turn 90 this year and have witnessed so many historic events because my main interests were always health and religion. Unity is one of the most important features of the Baha’i Faith. That is Unity amidst diversity- not among sameness. For this reason I always felt totally accepted among the Baha’is even though my culture was very different from most of the others. One of the original attractions in Bahaullah’s writings for our family was the explanation of the cause of illness being an imbalance of elements in our bodies. I never believed that God created a Satan who would create sin in the world or dangerous Germs who would create disease. We consulted Homeopathic or Naturopathic or Chiropractic physicians because their skills were more in line with our opinions about the cause of disease and how to treat our conditions we create when we fail to follow God’s laws - both natural and Spiritual. It worked for us. We had minimal sicknesses and were able to raise or find in nature almost all of our remedies. We never needed to go to a hospital except for an accident. Our children were born in the comfort of our home and our elderly died in the comfort of our home. Over the years we have learned much more about this way of life and found more skilled practitioners of natural sciences that complement our convictions learned from the guidance from the Baha’i Writings and our life experiences. In fact, in the last few years, I have seen a huge number of well known physicians changing their views regarding better health care. Since we know that medical science is in “its infancy”, I can’t believe that it is time to hand over control of health care of the whole world over to the WHO that is financed and controlled by entities with their own selfish interests. Let’s first let the world go thru the process of consultation where we see the clash of opinions result in the spark of truth. Recently we have had this essential consultation prevented by rampant censure of any diversity of opinions being allowed. I really look forward to the day when the world decentralizes more and uses a format that resembles more the Baha’i model of organizing without need for all the politics because people know each other. Then there will be no need for corrupt politics. There will be a place for freely elected national and international bodies but they will not try to micromanage the diverse locally elected bodies.

I enjoyed all of your deliberations except your assertion on COVID management, a highly erroneous political process that is void of consultation by all sides of this issue, and connecting it to the teachings of our dear faith is a massive mistake that will damage its reputation in the mind of many seekers and students of the Baha’i teachings. Please do not comment on anything that is politically charged in these days.

Agreed. As someone who developed myasthenia gravis three weeks after my second dose of AstraZeneca COVID vax - and type this with a canula in my left hand while on IVIG to manage my symptoms - I also respectfully suggest that taking a fixed position about anything related to the entire COVID response is unwise.

@@philipwilkie3239 What makes you think it was the vaccine that caused your health issue? I'm sorry for what has happened to you, but I've had six shots and have had no bad effects, including I've never had COVID. Religion and science must go hand in hand. I'll be happy to let my competent doctor decide what's best for me, and it has nothing to do with politics. I think that makes the most sense, don't you?

@@wendyscott8425 I hesitate to respond because I fully understand that the large majority of people - say 999 out of 1000 - took the shots with no serious adverse events. From their perspective the vaccines were indeed perfectly 'safe and effective'. However there is no question that some non-zero number of people DID have some serious adverse reaction and for us the experience is very different. Sadly the two groups of people have spent the past few years talking past each other. It is obviously impossible for me to prove that my case of MG was directly and irrefutably caused by the AZ vaccine. As with many chronic medical conditions, no-one really knows the exact mechanism that triggers autoimmunity which means demanding an exact cause and effect is requiring an impossible standard of proof. However I am resident in West Australia and rather unusually this state was completely free of COVID until after I was diagnosed, so I can rule out the virus as the cause. But the temporal correlation cannot really be ignored - and the very distinct symptoms of myasthenia gravis - double vision, eyelid weakness, difficulty chewing etc - are highly diagnostic. In addition a research group based at Flinders University in Melbourne recently demonstrated : "New research has shown that the dangerous PF4 antibodies involved in vaccine-induced thrombosis (VITT) and similar disorders from common cold infections share identical molecular structures, highlighting implications for future vaccine development and disease management. New research conducted by Flinders University and global specialists is deepening our knowledge of vaccine-induced immune thrombocytopenia and thrombosis (VITT). During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, VITT was recognized as a new condition linked to adenovirus vector-based vaccines, particularly the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. VITT was found to be caused by an unusually dangerous blood autoantibody directed against a protein termed platelet factor 4 (or PF4). In separate research in 2023, researchers from Canada, North America, Germany, and Italy described a virtually identical disorder with the same PF4 antibody that was fatal in some cases after natural adenovirus (common cold) infection." (YT does not like embedded links in comments but a quick search will show the original article at scitechdaily dot com) In an on air interview one of this team did go on to say that there was no reason why this same mechanism could not be implicated in other autoimmune responses - the only reason why they focused on VITT is because it is the best documented SAER, and AZ have acknowledged it. In addition the two neurologists who have been looking after me both agree it is highly likely the vaccine did trigger my condition. But all this is a science oriented response. The real problem here is that those of us who lined up for our vaccines and were badly injured or worse - have been largely silenced, mocked, discredited or just plain disbelieved. Which is why I believe the Faith should tread cautiously on this whole matter.

41:00 Let's go back and look at the Nuremberg accords. 55:28 So, even if the global government institutions suffer from the same corruption as the national states; because of the power of prayer and the forces of the Holy Spirit and our dedication to Baha'u'llah, they will all be subject to the effect of the proclamation of "those eternal principles proclaimed by Baha'u'llah" for which we pray in our obedience to those governments. Proper science and history indicate that there was and is a political narrative operating globally around a plandemic. Shall American Baha'is be glad to sacrifice our constitutional freedoms in this process? And shall we abandon our dedication to truth and justice? God verily doeth whatsoever He willeth in the kingdom of creation and we will all verily abide by His will.

Where was the mention of America achieving its destiny through suffering? Where was the mention of Shoghi Effendi's Citadel of Faith "America Passing Through a Crisis"? I was astounded by a comment made by another wealthy Iranian Baha'i professional stating that the calamity is already passed, that it was WW2. Yet another said that we are now living in the Lesser Peace.

I just read about the theosophy. I can see why you’d confuse the two as Baha’is believe in oneness of mankind and theosophy discusses universal brotherhood. But the similarity stops there. Baha’i faith does not believe in reincarnation or karma or other superstitious concepts. Further, theosophy was founded in the U.S. Baha’i faith originated in Iran. Baha’i founders were Iranian and former Muslims. Theosophy was founded by Americans based on ideas of a Russian mystic, it was considered an occult, or a movement, and has faded away. The number of believers are around hundred thousand. In contrast, the Baha’i faith is considered in East and West as a formal religion and its believers have risen to over 6 million across the globe. With passage of time, not only has it not faded down but rather has accumulated respect and validation as an independent religion by believers and nonbelievers alike. I hope this answered your question
