The most exciting college player Ive ever seen. I remember a move he made in high school where he was running full speed and stopped on a dime to avoid a db who had the angle. The db ended up tackling air and David walked into the end zone. Amazing talent.

Maybe, but he wasn’t a tailback. He was a WR and kick return specialist. He may have played RB at times just like he played QB.

Don't see it here, but I saw him play in person against Ole Miss in 1994. There were less than 30 seconds left, and we had the ball on about our own 20. Deuce went into QB and threw a 70 yard bomb to Kevin Lee. Michael Proctor ended up kicking a field goal and winning that game. Deuce was one bad dude!!!

I remember David Palmer being a really good player. I was watching a Charles Woodson interview and he was asked who his favorite NFL player was. He said Walter Payton. When asked who his favorite college player was, he said David Palmer and that is what inspired him to wear #2. I forget Woodson was a RB in high school and played a little QB. I thought he would say Deion Sanders, but it was the deuce

Hands down the most fluid, elusive, best body control of any Alabama ever! Too small for the NFL. Cooper, much bigger, has those Palmer traits, but is bigger, and we see what he is doing. Palmer is in a class of his own at Bama, when we ran the ball 75% of the time.

Forrest Davis was a recruiting analyst back then, and when David came out of high school, he said Palmer was the most elusive player imaginable! Wow! He never lied! I’m gonna have to go back and watch these highlights, because I didn’t see his greatest run ever! Maybe it was in there, and I missed it. he was in the shotgun down near the goal line against Auburn and everybody knew he was gonna run the ball and they had him surrounded and vaporized and reappeared in the end zone! Roll Tide Baby!!!

@hutchthecruck I assume this is Milliner you're talking about? I watched his team play my high school (and lose), but Milliner was a force all game, on offense AND defense. He seemed to be around the ball on every play, and on offense him and his brother switched out at running back. I wouldn't expect him at receiver just because our depth there is insane, and our CBs need some help this season. I WOULD expect him to play on Special Teams or be a Dime Back this season though, he shouldn't RS.

David Palmer had the misfortune of playing for a coaching staff that had the most unimaginative offensive coaching philosophy in the HISTORY of the university of Alabama. Deuce should have been Bama's starting QB, AND the offense should have absolutely been built around his talents. What a waste. I believe if those things been done, he would have been Alabama's first Heisman trophy winner. There's no doubt in my mind. He should've gone to Oklahoma.
