The Dickies are one of the coolest LA punk rock bands EVER!!! Yes, there was X and the Weirdos and The Controllers and The Stains, The Germs, but the Dickies were the ones who opened up for the Ramones every year at the Hollywood Palladium. They were my first real punk rock concert. I remember losing one of my Vans tennis shoes at the gig and having to look for it after the concert. It's a total blurr, but I do remember it was so fucking cool! I was only 13 years old and I fucking loved it! The Dickies are AWESOME!

I remember when the original was a hit, always loved it, I'm from that generation. I remember when this came out, loved it, too, because it retains the dark, haunting beauty of the original, while replacing the grandeur with manic frenzy. Works for me.

My first exposure to this cover of Nights In White Satin? I used to work late nights in a country radio station in Texas in the 80's. One night I got really bored and started rooting around in their backroom archives of old 45's. That's when I discovered this gem by the Dickies. In a small town country station in Texas. LOL!

The Dickies did/do lots and lots of covers. You can always tell when it’s just a piss-take or an actual homage/tribute. Not only does this fall into the latter category, but I would say without question that it’s their best cover of all, and one of the greatest covers ever, by any band. This is a bonafide hall o’ famer. It still sounds just as great and fresh today in 2024 as it did way back in 1979.

Absolutely brilliant!!! When this came out I remember reading an interview with the the band and the interviewer said 'Are you not just lampooning the song' to which they replied 'No! We think it's a classic and we want to do it in Dickies style'. It's and homage more than anything. The humour in the band came from their own songs. I love this band.
