I was working in a nursing home in Germany. And I can tell you from first hand, that there're staff shortages everywhere in the world in healthcare. Because it has never been a priority to any government to pump enough money in healthcare system. It is slightly worst in eastern Europe but even in Germany I've had 12 patients with progressed dementia, all of them were difficult to handle and if they didn't want to take a shower, than 4 staff members needed, 3 to hold him and one to wash him. There's no other way unfortunately. Every minutes, every seconds of days we're busy. Luckily in Germany institutes like these can pay some extra staff to take patients out sometimes or to play with them and they have some volunteers as well, which are both missing in eastern Europe. But I still think, even with these few hours a week extra attention patients were not happy at all, nobody have time to give them the proper care they would get from their own family...

It's so easy to judge when one dosn't know the reality. Each child/adult/elderly person, needs to go to the toilet, eat, and be entertained or left to find their own entertaintenment. I am speaking of my mum with high energy, scrambled brain, impulsivity, aggression because of frustration, habits like self harming, poo smearing, self defeating habits mostly, and danger to themselves. It's very difficult to be working/ caring in that environment without adequate breaks, understanding, respect, psychological help, economical comfort, stimulation. The world needs to put resources to tackle this, but we haven't even stopped hunger! And the people throwing the bombs just for fun are certainly not helping, they must be confronted and stopped. People need dignity and compassion to be able to thrive

I agree with you and this is my assessment of the current situation (my assessment is after this side note: which isn’t a denial that Ukraine needs to heavily improve the life conditions for every child and adults living in a state funded home/orphanage) ⬇️ “Hi, absolutely heartbreaking! But also every single person spoken to said they wanted support to be able to have their children back home, and when the full scale invasion 🇷🇺 forced upon Ukraine 🇺🇦 they had - as mentioned in this very clip *relocate* so many children a orphanage for 12 children have after relocation 52 children to care for - that would be extremely hard for any staff to deal with and cred shall also be given to Ukraine that they do care about these children and adults, had they not cared about them they’d not have relocated them to begin with. And after +860 days of constant shelling of civilian infrastructure by 🇷🇺’a it’s not (and I know this will come out sounding very harsh) but it’s not, cannot be a priority when they are trying to handle it full scale invasion, had 🇺🇦, a sovereign country NOT been invaded then I’m confident they would be prioritizing very differently. Individuals with physical and developmental disabilities are often restrained for their own safety or the safety of others (staff and other residents). I don't believe that any institution can perfectly address each and every need of disabled individuals in their care no matter where in the world. It is a sad reality. What should be known is that these children have abilities. A lot of them would have been able to talk and possibly walk if people learned them. Just because a person has disabilities does not mean they are not capable of learning these things. But there needs to be put in a lot of effort in the critical ages. And ofcourse warmth and affection is needed to grow. And before you say if you care do it yourself, I allready do care for the most vulnerable, this is my work (behavioral scientist).

Stop saying they think "that's all they're worth", that's all they can do with them. What do you expect them to do, enroll them in enrichment programs like advanced-placement calculus. They can't even eat or go to the bathroom on their own, there's nothing more that can be done for them than to entertain them, to take them to the park and play with them with toys, which aren't exactly possible right now, so even if it was like this before the invasion, criticizing them for it now is specious.

not sure if it happens all over the world in such scale though 🤔. in Asian or Arabic countries disabled kids live with their families. ,and the try their best to take care of their children according to their financial needs. BUT when it comes to empathy , they give it all.

Exactly, empathy. I see very little empathy for these disabled residents, regardless of resources, you still need people to genuinely care and understand that people with disabilities are not less than, and they deserve the love and care just as much as those without disabilities.xxx

Ukraine is a poor, corrupt and divided country. It's not nice at all. Most of the population wanted to get out of the country long before the war. Why does Hungary always critical towards Ukraine and friendlier towards Russia? Because Hungary shares a border with Ukraine and has a huge native Hungarian population in Western Ukraine. They can see the chaos and the awful living conditions in Ukraine. Then, why does the Ukrainian government ban all male citizens from leaving Ukraine without caring mass mobilizations? The state is just afraid to have more people left (7-8 million people escaped from Ukraine at this moment).

For those who will use this video to justify Russia taking over Ukraine, just know that Russia also treats disabled people this way. This is how most post Soviet countries treat them. These are developing countries not the first world. They have no money and no staff. Psychological services are lacking, like there just aren’t trained psychologists.

This country ought to look a little in the mirror. Autistic people are languishing in institutions and many are dying imn this country. I am an autistic person and am currently doing Oliver Magowan training for NHS staff. The statistics are and autistic person will die in this country on average 16 years earlier than non autistic people. So we need to look at ourselves too.

It is sad and heartbreaking to see these children and young adults. Instead of asking western countries for ever more money and weapons, maybe Selensky should ask for doctors, nurses, physical therapists and volunteers to come and help. Contact Doctors without Borders. It is unbelievable to me that in the 21st century this is still happening. Most of these children could live a fairly normal life with proper care, stimulation, food and most of all love.

Hi, absolutely heartbreaking! Respectfully, Grace 🩰 #СлаваУкраїні 🇺🇦 #ГероямСлава 🫡🇺🇦
