Warning: I've omitted a few of the darker entries, please don't click on this video if you only want to hear about the tragic deaths, they're not here.
From hidden naked frames in their movies to accusations of racism and sexism, Disney has had a few slip ups in their time. Being almost 100 years old, a lot has changed and of course they were going to come under fire at some points. However, because they've been around for so long, they have a long history, and some real skeletons in their closet. In this video, I'm going to explore Disney, and some of the better kept (and worse kept) secrets. Just how far does the rabbit hole go down for some of these things?
Of course, as I said in the video, I don't feel comfortable speaking about some of the lower down entries, specifically because there are about 4 to do with people (Often teenagers) tragically dying, and although I think that stuff like the topless woman from rescuers down under is fair game, I personally believe that these tragedies just aren't suitable for me to speak about for a few minutes. Apologies if you wanted me to talk about them, but I simply don't feel comfortable.
I want to give a big shoutout to halfbaekd for allowing me to use his lo-fi Disney beats in this video. I thought that they were amazing, and really think that they added something to this video, check him out for some more amazing tunes! / @halfbaekd
Finally, I just wanted to say that I personally have a very mixed relationship with Disney, some of my favourite movies are Disney movies, and while they often bring out films about being kind and courteous, a lot of the time their legal department don't play by the same rules. I find this hypocritical, and while I do admit in the video that Disney do a lot of good, they literally make dreams come true and I have some high respect for all the people at the company (Especially the cast members at Disneyland) that make kids believe in magic. Their work is commendable. This doesn't excuse a lot of stuff that Disney has done in the past however, and so I thought that this video could be made to shine a light on where they have gone wrong in the past.
Anyways, if you liked this video, please make sure to interact with it (Like, comment, share or sub) as it helps me know that all of the hours I've put into it are worth it. Thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoy!
