This montage narrates the story of 2 Arisen and their pawns.
Both Arisens have very different tales that rhyme together many times and at the end achieve the same result for their worlds.
They remember who they are and that they were chosen by the dragon to fulfill a task, slaying it.
In preparing for the quest they realize they are capable of commanding the pawns, a group of supernatural beings that have no will of their own but execute the orders of the Arisen to the letter.
They summon their own pawns from beyond the rift, their faithful companion who will aid them in slaying the wyrm.
Finally they go and face the Dragon but during the fight one Arisen (Dragon's Dogma 2) hears the truth from the Dragon, who explains that it is all a lie and that they (he and the Dragon) are both simply fulfilling a pre-ordained task, willed by a superior being that watches over the world from outside.
After slaying the Dragon the Arisen is filled with doubt and regret, he doesn't want to rule because if everything is pre-ordained by the Great Will then his actions aren't truly his own, he's just a puppet of a greater being.
He is granted the possibility to make a different choice.
This time with an incredible demonstration of will, instead of fighting the Dragon and fulfilling his pre-ordained task he pierces his own chest with the Godsbane blade, instead of dying the Great Will meets him and tries to salvage the situation by explaining that he is supposed to slay the wyrm and then rule the land.
The Arisen is furious and refuses once again, the dragon spoke the truth, every being is just an empty puppet fulfilling a task decided by the Great Will.
The Great Will is furious, no human had ever decided to defy the Dragon's Dogma, this world must now be erased.
Meanwhile the other Arisen (Dragon's Dogma 1) has come face to face with the superior being who creates and destroys all life, his will is great enough for him to ascend and take the place of the Seneschal and rule over the world entire.
The second Arisen (Dragon's Dogma 2) witness the Great Will's rage and observes the world beginning to crumbling to dust, at one point the Great Will itself manifests on earth in the form of a great dragon, to give the coup de grace to the world.
Just like the world, his faithful pawn, who followed him since the beginning, begins to come undone.
With miracolous strenght of will she maintains a clear mind and manages to fly the Arisen to the Great Will. Both Arisens fight for their lives against superior beings, but both have the same purpose in their actions, to free the world from the yoke of the Dogma of Dragons.
The second Arisen's pawn manages to strike the Great Will, she explains that she finally understood the Arisen's actions, will must be used to shape the world as one desires (in this case a world free of the oppressing hand of a superior being). The first Arisen discovers that the Seneschal is none other than an Arisen like him.
Both pawns provide the arisens with an opportunity to strike. The Seneschal yelds and provides the first Arisen with the Godsbane Blade and asks to free him from his burden and to take his place.
The second pawn (who has acquired a will of her own) sacrifices herself for the Arisen to be able to save the world.
The first Arisen, after striking down the Seneschal has taken the role for himself, but he has no intention of ruling over the world, with an immense strenght of will he sacrifices himself, freeing the world from a everwatching greater being.
His pawn falls back down to earth and realizes that her master's soul is giving her a will of her own.
Washing up on shore she encounters Selene, a former pawn who became human, a new life begins on a now free world.
