Hi both😍🇳🇿 yes the ferrata was a bit sketchy without the safety gear! The scenery on the bike ride just about took away the pain of the steepness!! Cheers...Andy&Michelle

The waterfall is truly amazing, it's the 3rd time we've been there we love it so much. 😀 As far as I know Giddy Edge is unique in the uk for a non mountain edge but there's a nice less scary but beautiful walk in North Wales we know😀 Are you going to the Stratford show next week? Great images of a stunning setting. I noticed you weren't wearing gloves. Isn't this dangerous? You can easily injure yourself on steel cables isn't it?
@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures

Hi, yes the cables can have stray sharp threads and if its a long Via Ferrata hands would get very sore, this was basically a bike riding day with a quick stop off to see the waterfall so we didn't take the VF gear. It is mostly a 1A which the guidelines say safety equipment is optional because it's basically walking but with exposure (like giddy edge in Matlock if you've ever done that) the short bit of 2B where we climbed down ideally would have had safety equipment. Cheers...Andy&Michelle

Hey we love you guys, you make us look really unfit (at 40) but we still love you, so just charging up our Ebike batteries and thought I'd share a tip in case it's not something you do. Like you we have 2 of the same bikes so for the life of the batteries and to maximize the length of ride time on a charge we straight away (2years ago) labelled both batteries with our names, as expected with me and my bike both being heavier than Susanna('s) my battery has deteriorated quicker than hers because despite doing exactly the same mileage it has effectively been used and charged more but it has done so waaay less than it should have done because we now permanently SWAP batteries before rides to balance out the life cycles of the two. Give it a go....also last summer we did a monster bike ride all round the hills near Barmouth (51miles 6000ft ascend) and luckily we swapped batteries mid rid. had we not done that I would've been walking back to camp. Susanna (on my battery) had 2 miles left on the capacity). Anyway hope that is of some use and keep having fun. Thanks for sharing your life with us

Hi, if you're doing a 51 mile 6000ft then you've got to be fit, even on ebikes! I start to get battery concerns planning anything over 4000ft elevation gain. So well done for that one!! 😀 Good tip on the batteries, makes total sense but I fear Michelle won't like the idea, she takes great pride in the fact she has more power left than me!🤣 I'll try it and see what she says!! 🫣 Cheers

@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures cheers for that, well maybe but we don't go for monster bike rides and hikes in the same day like u guys. As with these days out we never planned for 51 miles 😁 . Ha yes Susanna does the same to me ribbing me about my measly remaining miles. If you don't have them already labelled and have been doing it random thus far I'd still label them up as one will definitely show up as more used overall and that could then be more for her going forward. (If it matters of course) for reference if u ever upgrade we have 630 wh batteries and they are amazing, and full suspension my goodness when I see Susanna rear shock going up and down I can't believe we used to have that impact going into out backs. We are very intrigued by these walking sticks, got to give that a go. Thanks for the reply 👍

We are going to upgrade in the next year or so, bigger batteries and full suspension will be a must. what bikes do you have? I didn't mention in my previous reply but the batteries on our bikes are very slightly different to the point that when we put each others battery in by mistake it took the paint off
@WillboBagginz

@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures oh I see sorry I wouldn't have suggested it 😅. We have Haibike Alltrail5 bikes. Amazing and great value (at the time). I was worried about the rear suspension absorbing all the power but not a problem at all. Love the dropper posts as well for when you are going down hill or want to give your arms or shoulders a rest plus when u guys store them in motorhome having the saddle easily drop down will ensure they don't snag on the other bike's brake lever or something. I miss having an uncluttered A frame for a 2nd waterbottle but we just strap one down on the handlebars or in the rucksack. Haibike have a sliding rail system for accessories like bottles so atleast we can slide the bottle cage to the best position. We love our bikes but the battery and key locking system isn't exactly ideal, it works but there may be better out there. The fantastic thing for you guys is every day you've put the upgrade off has been worth it...the lightweight bikes and lighter batteries have come such a long way in the last 2 years that a full suspension with larger battery might be no heavier than what u have now. We are on the Yamaha system, wanted bosch but actually they've been great and quiet. Sounds silly but if ur gonna charge in the Moto garage unattended I'd ask to see the charger b4 purchase. I am not impressed at all by ours, they look like they have been stolen from someone's laptop bag and get really hot, Haibike assured us that this is normal but it doesn't sit right with me and I unfortunately wouldn't charge these in a moto garage without checking the temp of the transformer block every 5 minutes....disappointing and there must be better out there. Sorry if u didn't ask for all that ...would u like ur 5 minutes back 😁

Thanks for the info 😀 we have dropper seats too, wouldn't be without them. Our chargers get warm too but they are the size of half a brick so feel confident enough with charging in the garage. Always a slight concern though with anything like that. It's looking like we'll need to pay minimum £12k for 2 bikes now when originally it was 6k for 2. That's one of the reasons we haven't upgaded, we're still getting a lot of joy from our Giant's.

Andy on this one I agree with Peter and Michelle.. I climb a high grade and still use via ferrata kit on a via feratta. Main reason is it set an example to others and just save that stupid slip. Climbed down crazy decent routes of a climb wherer wished it had a cable. You making me want to get back to Dolomites looks amazing.
