The Wild Men - or Drúedain as called by the Eldar - were the folk of Haleth of the Three Houses of the Edain (the first Elf-friends).
Thus, they were strangers to the other Atani, or the ‘Second People’ of the only Men known in Beleriand in the Houses. However, they were much loved while they lasted.
Much like the others, the Drúedain would learn Sindarin in order to communicate with the Elves. However, they ended up not speaking it if they did not go beyond the borders of their own woods.
