Exactly!! Especially with the Viltrox EF-EF M focal reducer adapter so you get an almost full frame field of view of the whole lens for extra swirly goodness!

Oh I love the Soviet Swirl Gang! They are a vintage staple😁 Recently, I was able to get hold of the Helios 85mm and my second Mir 1b 37mm. I wanted a second Mir1b because I've modded my first one with the front element mod by Mathieu Stern, which I think is INSANELY COOL. Btw, have you use the Mir1b with a Speedbooster before? With mine I can't focus to infinity, because the back element has some plastic enclosure around it, which sticks out too much when focusing to infinity. It sticks out so far, that it even touches the glass element of the speedbooster. I'll try to file it down soon. So I'll hope, I'll be able to use the Mir1b with a speedbooster

Oh wow, I haven't had a problem with speedboosters with my Mir 1B! I wonder if it has to do with the year of manufacture? Do you know what model/year yours was manufactured in? Also if you're taking it apart you should do the close focus mod if you haven't already! Very easy to do and adds even more usability.

@@VietinghoffAlex I need to look up the year of manufacture on mine. But I just noticed I have the version with the complete flat focus ring. You have the one with the scallopes. That might be a difference. Thanks for the tip on the close focus mod, I'll need to try that :D

Ok little update on the Mir 1b 37mm touching the Speedbooster glass. I use the Viltrox Speedbooster on the BMPCC OG and BM Micro. I just got the Metabones Speedbooster and tested the MIR 1b with it. And with this combo the MIR doesn't touch the Metabones. I've noticed, it's because on the Viltrox Speedbooster the glass element sticks out more to the front, because I calibrated it once for infinity focus adjustment. I'll try to re-calibrate it again soon so that both infinity focus and the glass element can be further to the back, so the MIR won't touch it.
