I was lucky enough to see The Drifters live, they were sensational, the whole building vibrated to their sound. Brilliant group, brilliant songs .

stephen brower ....I believe you are referring to Rudy Lewis.....I agree with you .....Rudy was an extraordinary talent.....His version of " Some Kind of Wonderful " is the most famous example of his warm and soulful voice .

WOW---greatest talent ever. What a range of voice!! Heard this a lot growing up. Yes---who cares what flick you see as long as the one you love is with you--hold hands--steal a kiss or two and just cuddling!! Those days are gone now!! Pop corn was better too!!

Remember hearing this at the youth club circa 1975. All the girls were dancing to it, they looked great. Also The Bump - Joe Tex was a bit hit on the dance floor. Began my love affair with soul music right there.

Only three singers -- left to right -- Gene Pearson, Johnny Moore and Charlie Thomas. This must have been filmed around early 1966 when Johnny Terry was missing gigs due to illness, shortly before he left the group.

Wikipedia says the Drifters went through about 62 singers in the groups career. The manager evidently did not want to pay them, and that's what drove Benny King away as well as others.
