Several years ago, just before the Dubliners retired from performing live, i was lucky enough to visit them back stage, when they were performing in llandudno in North Wales. I will never forget how hospitable and friendly they all were, and they willingly signed their autographs. What ever you think about their music, they were real gentlemen, and i am still a big admirer of their Irish Folk Music.

+eejwelshtaff Several year's ago i used to work as a steward in the theatre in Llandudno, and the Dubliners were regular performers there. One year, after the concert had finished, i was allowed back stage to meet them all. They were winding down, sipping cups of tea and just relaxing before heading on their way. I only spent around ten minutes or so with them, but there was a real warmth given off in the room. Would you please sign my cd i asked, they all signed it, and were true gentleman, the kind you would not hesitate in inviting to any gathering. I also met the Stylistics some years ago as well, and they were on par with the Dubliners, charming and professional towards admiring fans.

I just find it incredible how Barney could play so fast yet his left hand looks as if it's not doing that much. And not a single wrong note. A true legend of the banjo. Eamonn had to really bust a gut to keep up with him, which of course he did as always.
