Hey man, just want to say merry Christmas and thanks for all the amazing videos. Loved the north Wilkes borough vid, and honestly you and a KZitemr who goes by “EmpLemon” renewed my love for nascar. I’m 18 atm, but I remember back when I was only a few years old and would watch races at Bristol with my dad. Fell out of it though when Jeff Gordon retired and jimmy stopped trying, but seeing the past and especially the 2003 Dealers race reminded me of how fun nascar can be. So whether or not you ever see this, merry Christmas dude, and never forget the amount of impact you have left on the world, because it matters a lot and I’m only 1 person ❤️

You know. If it were me, I'd just go to a bottle redemption center, and since most people just ignore points and stuff. You'd probably very quickly be able to gather thousands of points which were otherwise disposed of. Back in the 90s. There was this "under the cap" game, Gatorade i think it was. And under the cap it would say you won a portable CD player or a mountain bike or whatever prizes. My friend at this time was working at the gas station/ convenience store. While he was stocking the fridge he noticed that with certain flavors, such as lemon lime, or the lighter color liquid. You could easily look inside to see if it was a winner or not. I remember hanging out at his place and he had all this stuff piling up that he "won". Well I'd say he won.
@Iradicos
2 жыл бұрын
This will probably get lost in the comments, but back in the day, they were running another special like this for the XBOX 1, except it was many more points needed but you then get it for free. I was working in a grocery store at the time, and a coworker/friend found that he could see the cap code on certain MTN DEW bottles if he tilted it just right. So he methodically went through all MTN DEW bottles that we had in back-stock, wrote them down by hand, then submitted them online and won a free Xbox 1.

Dew Bottles in all the schools recycling bin (they had them in every classroom) Got enough points and ordered it. He had to hide the xbox from his parents for awhile, and then convince them that he really did NOT spend any money on it, and won it in a contest. At the church I went to growing up, our Youth group had two Xbox's and TV's hooked up to one another, so that when Youth Group was over (kids waiting on parents) or we had like game nights, you could do system play, and the games available were pretty much only Halo: Combat Evolved, and Ghost Recon 2 (Both solid picks). Yeah that made me really sad too; I always found the character rather wholesome and heartwarming, and learning that heyman was fired for being a jerk to his coworkers was depressing. It effectively killed the series. RvB Zero was a major flop, and ever since it’s just been kinda dead. Sad to see in a new wave of halo enthusiasm in the wake of halo infinite. Maybe someone new will fill the gap, I dunno. There’s plenty of good halo machinima makers out there. Maybe following infinite’s back to basics approach would be just what it needs.
@GBDupree
2 жыл бұрын
@@SladeDoobiedog knowing Current Roosterteeth, it's more likely the OPPOSITE. Where his coworkers were toxic to him because of his beliefs, and claimed he was being mean just for having those beliefs, and not for actually doing anything. I mean the fact that this only happened recently after they hired a bunch of new people, and not the 15 years before that he had worked there, seems to also imply this. Just look at Jack from AH for example, he's VERY political (an opposing political belief to Heyman too) and is pretty fanatical about his beliefs to the point of being rude about it from time to time. But even so he was good friends with Heyman, so much so that he had him come to his wedding (his best man if i remember correctly?). Showing that Joel was more than capable of getting along with others, even those with opposing beliefs. But nowadays, despite RT always being very left leaning, and open about that, the new people are so fanatical and toxic that even Jack can't handle them. He actually stormed off mid-video because a new employee was being so toxic. And these toxic people are the ones to claim Joel was being rude. Seems fishy. I think Joel is just a guy with weird beliefs, but because he isn't going to change his beliefs, people attacked him for it and claimed he was the offender so they could get rid of him because they didn't want someone with different opinions around. It's incredibly common that this sorta thing happens.

I do not know why, because it really wasn't that insane, but out of all the things I expected to be saved on those soundtracks, it was not that.

I love stuff like this. A few years back, I bought an Xbox from a yard sale. On the way home, I noticed some smuged writing on the controller. It looked like a gamertag my buddy used to use. I suddenly realized what I had, ran home, and plugged it in. Sure enough, it was my buddies xbox that was stolen over 12 YEARS AGO. It even still had all our gamertags/profiles. Some of my favorite things in my collection have almost no monetary value, but are still dope to me. I have an Xbox game that has stamps from a college library, then it ended up at a military base(still has borrow/return punch card) and then I bought it at a yard sale. Another was a gift from someone's grandma, and they possibly never looked behind the manual, because there was a nice note and a $10 bill. I left the note and the bill, along with another note I wrote. I may grab it on a rainy day, but i like to think someone else might find it one day. One time i went to a yard sale, the lady told me i was welcome to go inside and look around. She said she had just bought the place and it was full of junk. I went in, there was a room that was, no kidding, a 2 ft pile of literal trash covering the whole floor. I saw in the way back a computer. So i decided yolo, and went searching. Under all the beer cans and other crap, I found an ATARI IN THE BOX. No shit. A full-blown boxed atari. And by the end, I found 8-9 BOXED games. I told her about it all. She seemed more concerned with trying to sell me the computer. I ended up getting it all for like $20. I got a gameboy that I bought from an old lady who had bought it for her grandkids when they first released and they never used it. She said she played it some, but it was like in perfect condition. Still had some games in the plastic sleeves.

That music downloads feature was so cool back then, especially for kids with little real experience of having their own computer. It's also the most obvious sign of "I'm turning 30" to say that the first memory that came to mind was playing Amped Snowboarding while listening to the Chocolate Starfish CD by Limp Bizkit. Keep on Rollin' bebe.

So, get this right. My local church was also the pre-school, and I know I’m dating myself now, but we had a NES and SNES down in the basement of the church. It was more or less just decoration, but every once in a while we’d sneak into the room and play Super Mario. I have a feeling this xbox lived as one of those “daycare-church consoles” that was bought by the church because… budgets? Or something. It’s wild how much history is on a little Memory cars..

My first Xbox360 was entirely red because it came with Resident Evil 5. It was one of those Gen 1 Xbox360's with the big block of a memory cartridge on the side. When it inevitably crashed, the only way we knew of to keep all our old saves was to buy another Gen 1 Xbox360 (a standard white one this time) so it would be compatible with the memory block. Our second Xbox360 didn't last nearly as long. But you know what really outlived our Xbox360s? Our transparent watermelon colored Nintendo 64. I can still play it to this day.

I mean. I don't wanna brag about my insightful detective-ing skills, but the fact that "The Bible Game" was on this console? It was gonna be fulla Christian rock music. Also, that catch in your throat as you peddled sex toys and accessories was clearly a resurfacing of long forgotten Christian guilt brought forth by the discovery of the multitudinous variations of white dudes crooning about Jesus laying hands on your sinful soul and filling your body with his love.

I'm know two years late, but I don't think it spent time as a CD player for a church. The numerous profiles would suggest it was being used by A LOT of people, so it was probably the youth group's communal xbox, which the staff would also use to play music. This would also explain all the disjoined games, since kids would be able to bring their games from home to play with their friends.

I used to go to church where the youth group had their game room with xboxs, game cubes, playstations, etc. We would play before and after church service while we waited to get picked up. It's entirely possible that the kids and teens of a church youth group convinced each other or the youth pastor to work together to get that console for the church so that they could play it together as a novelty. A combined effort from a bunch of kids and their parents makes achieving that goal a lot more feasible. Plus the church is probably buying sodas and pizzas every week for their Sunday school get-togethers. So buying a ton of Mountain Dew is just a reallocation of their usual church spending budget.

Yeah it was definitely used at a church/school as a fun thing for the kids to do sometimes It also might explain why they had access to a large number of mountain dew bottle caps and points, if they bought soda for events/school stuff.
