Excellent video - much need today for me so thank you! Love that last quote (Samadhi - the movie) ; The illusion of the struggling self needs to be dropped. Still, there are days when I forget and I identify and thus I suffer.

We’ve probably met on the bovada/ignition NL 5/10 streets. Man the games were so juicy back 4-5 years ago. I don’t play there anymore but it was possible to make a good living back then. Now I sell financial products and occasionally play tournaments on there but the clip at 8:10 gave me a nice little hit of nostalgia!

Thanks for sharing your poker story with us. The Dunning-Kruger/poker intersection and story arc is especially relevant to me as a recent psychology graduate and as I even more recently made the decision to play poker full time. I don't think I'm on top of Mt. stupid anymore, but I know that without mentorship I'll remain at the level im at. I'm having trouble deciding if i'm ok with that, as I'm making decent money already and enjoying the freedom the game affords when it is profitable. However I can't help but feel a twinge of guilt over not living up to my full potential.

"I know by the end of this video, you'll feel like an expert" is low-key the funniest Dunning-Kruger joke I've ever heard.

I wasn’t entirely sure if it was a meta joke on the subject OR if he just didn’t get the irony of such a statement. Funny either way.

The thing is, this has nothing to do with the dunning Kruger effect. You can just google real quick what the study was about, it’s more about people to tend to think they are above average, when they are not (just an attempt to paraphrase it in 1 sentence) But it is still a great video and not just applicable to poker but for pretty much anything in life, super well said and inspiring. Just has nothing to do with the dunning Kruger effect.

Why is your audio so bad? I guess you recorded it while actually walking outside, but your equipment couldn't handle all the background noise.
