Germans pronounce the i in Knipex as you did with the i in verdict. It's just a short e-sound, we don't have the ay-sound for Knipex. In Germany, we say Knipex (k-nee-pecks) instead of knaypecks. And yes, the little Knipex is really handy, fits in every pocket and you have it always on hand when you need to fasten something. Combine it with a Victorinox and you are prepared for 80% of all daily tasks. Nice kit btw.

I’m still rockin’ my “Man Purse” a Old Craftsman 10” tool bag. When it comes to needing light weight minimal tool set I use a tool pouch from the enduro/dual sport world from Klim. Apx. 10”x5”x2” made to utilise exterior pack straps but easily slips into what ever pack I’m using. My basic med kits are still separate though I would like to combine them with my trama kits. Think I got the idea from you years ago to transition for black kits to Color Coded pouches which has made them much easier to find. But I’m “Old School” my main tool bag blade is still a Boker Titan from the 440c days...lol

90% a bad idea. The largest the bag the more likely it will be left at home. When I need first aid, I need first aid and no distraction of other gear. One bag is only suitable if you carry the pouch in a backpack, too much weight for a shoulder bag, too big for cargo pocket.

G'day Charles, how ya do'in mate ? Yep like the mini ratchet/nut driver set too. Personally I have more of a need for internal hex/torx drives; with some you can insert common 6 mm, (here in metric), hex shafts; or whatever the norm is in imperial over there, I suspect 1/4 ? I do have a spring loaded adapter from 1/4 square drive to 6 mm hex but for an EDC kit, it is quite heavy/bulky for the privilege. Yes I can see the benefit of HD pouches, I still like a decent small daypack though, since there's always extras to carry; a jacket, food, water, coffee perhaps ................. or more importantly a few "frothies" ; ) Cheers Duke. P.S. oh yeah, of course, the other alternative to a horizontal ratchet handle is a vertical screwdriver ratchet handle; the one I have is decent, (Kinchrome branded), and yes more bulky than the horizotal job, but does provide bit storage inside the handle, pros and cons.

@@eyeofthetiger4184 Hey Duke! All's well with you?. I use a 1/4 inch ratchet and carry a little strip with a mix of Torx, Flathead, and Phillips bits. @@charlescollier7217 All good here Charles, quite a list of jobs at the moment, but hey being busy is its own reward. That makes perfect sense mate, always best to use the correct socket/driver where possible. I believe the Knipex jobs, (what we call multigrips), are very pricey but extremely good; seriously interested myself, such a versatile tool. I really dig Aarons kit, but not much room for extras and I'd be wanting at least a shoulder strap, or belt attachment method, hands free carry is not negotiable I reckon. In fairness, I s'pose he can easily throw his kit in any larger bag, though personally I prefer to utilise the organisation features inherent in the bag design, i.e. one less layer of access and you dont need to pull the pouch out to get at those items. Btw; do you strike many metric bolts/nuts and screws ? I certainly can justify having imperial sockets/spanners, measuring tools, not so much for EDC, but indeed in the home workshop.

G'day Aaron, very similar to what I carry, just distributed across a "grey" daypack. Do you have an attachment method for carry on your person ? Dig the integration of the med kit, since now it cant be separated. The red pull tag and quick deploy feature are winners too. Also, like the mini ratchet. FYI there are some cyclists multitools/kits that are very suitable for general EDC; particularly if you focus on internal hex and torx bits as I do. I rely on linesmans pliers and a 6 in. adjustable spanner, (what we call a shifter), to take care of the odd external drive head. Though I do like the idea of the Knipex multigrips too. Gotta love those Fat Max mini tape measures, (metric, 2 meters here), so handy !!!! for a few bucks each, I've got 'em all over the place. I remove the split ring and replace with a small carabiner. i.e. not permanently tethered to anything, such as keys. I tend to clip 'em to a belt loop on my trousers and in an EDC pack/pouch, clipping to the hole on an internal zipper pull does very nicely. As well as paracord, I like to throw in some no. 36 bankline, probably use that more often to be honest. Hate to admit it, lol, but a box cutter does make a lotta sense for the application. Also when I take a tube torch alone, I throw in the ol' Niteze headstrap, since I dont always wear a "ball" or other brimmed hat, perhaps a beanie, or none at all.. Anyway, it's always gonna be very personal, but you've provided plenty of food for thought mate and it'll be interesting to hear how other folks go about it in the comments. Cheers Duke.
