Thats the most sense i've ever heard on here. People wanna be thugs or act hard after watchin this or scarface and think that its some glamorous life... you don't fuckin' know, and we're not meant to live like this. We gotta start lookin out for each other, or there will be nobody left.

The last 5 mins. of this film is more powerful and EDUCATING than many full length features. This movie is one of the greats and is the autobiography of one of NYC's most admired activists. RIP.

TiminSE there were just too many unnecessarily long scenes tbh. I don't know if that was a thing during the 70s but damn

People up here arguing about which hood is the hardest and are missing the point of this movie. It's not something to brag about. It's something to learn from. I myself am interested in seeing this movie, but you weak-minded people need to stop being so easily influenced by the "thug life."

It's a movie that is interesting to watch if you want to see how shit was in the 70's. As you can see at the end of the movie clip right here, the gang shit isn't worth it. You don't see these dumb mofo's ever trying to get physical with this gangsta gov't.

They get it, they just don't care. They don't care about living so they do what they want to do and wait for death to come...sort of like Tupac. I know you care, but they don't care about living. They either want it better in life or they don't want to live. Simple as that. The 60's frame of mind is over. They'll do anything to make it. Unlike grandpops and grandmoms.

Growing up in Chicago and seeing the gangs first hand, this movie scaresd me because I thought this was a journey all blackmen took. this movie told it so real to me cuz i became a teen in '85 and we had VICE LORDS whom I thought this was based on. They just couldn't film it here because the streets was too crazy here in the 70'and 80's.............this and a world premiere t.v. movie called "the day after" fucked me up forever into paranoia and mind over bullshit.

We can all make it. Put your full hope and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ Who died for you. NOTHING is impossible with Him. NOTHING in this world matters compared to where you will spend eternity. The first will be last and the last will be first. Spend eternity with the righteous King of Glory Who loves and cares for you. He is coming back soon.
