I really enjoyed this series actually. I'm surprised. About them trusting the tribe, I don't think they had a choice. Dave had already fallen asleep and was saved(he had pretty solid ground on why he could trust those people). But although Linda sounds fine she was probably not far behind. They would probably have fallen asleep whether they trusted the old man or not. Katie's fast death was a little strange, I can't really think of a reason why she would "turn" immediately after falling asleep, and not after a few minutes like we have learned it takes before the person dies. Maybe it had been a few minutes, but the writers didn't explain sufficiently if that was the case. Matteo's death was fine. I didn't feel completely robbed or anything. And I really enjoyed his character overall. Not sure about the wather landing. In my head it was probably too many trees(jungle) to land, and/or Matteo was pretty damn desperate and knew he didn't have the time to fly around and look. But that is just my assumption. The story didn't really tell or even hint at anything like that. Linda I think I really like. She is hard to place, but I am excited to see her in a situation that isn't so desperate and she doesn't have a group of people relying on her knowledge and abilety. I actually enjoyed how she took charge and looked out for everyone even if she was a bit harsh and rather negative. I think she generly just tries to be realistic to keep everyone alive. Mark is such a good voice actor... Everyone was pretty good if not super good. But I know more about Mark and what he can do and has done. I keep underestimating him, and Idk why. It's not like I am doubting him, I just get surprised at his abilities. Dave is written quite similar to Mark I thought, and he is very likable and his actions are extremely reasonable to me. I actually really liked that he didn't "main character" it immediately. Linda was generally the one in charge and Dave was just reacting to what was happening. This can be said for the first part of the series. But until Dave found something he really believed in/was important he would just tag along. But once he found a purpose he made his choices and stood by it. I can understand why you did not like them just lingering, but it's something I aprishiated. They just didn't know what to do and the hospital was the most reasonable place to be at, even more considering they had a nurse. (Except for that none of them tried to contact any family as far as we know, unless none of them have friends and/or family, I wish they had put in some form of trying to get in contact with them.) But in my head, it made sense that they just lingered because what else can you do. They have checked the houses, everyone dead. They have called different places, no answers. All they knew was that they had to stay awake. I like that they showed the knowing and directionless part of a pandemic. The second half I personally found slightly...not rushed, but short maybe. And the ending wasn't really an ending. Like you said, the problems are so large, this was hardly a satisfying end. But overall this was an great listen. The characters where good and overall the story was goo as well. Very immersive. I hope you will continue to react to the upcoming season because this was a joy to watch "with you". Maybe my feelings about the slow start would have been different if I didn't have you on the side giving me something extra to occupy my mind with.

Hey hey! Thanks for your thoughts. Wanted to clarify on the main character point. The main character does not have to be the “leader” or ever even in charge. Look at Katniss Everdeen, she’s constantly declining being a leader until the end. The difference though is she was still making decisions. A main character just needs any decision to be made. It can even be the decision that stays inside his mind. It just felt like everything happened to him. So other than it being Mark I really wouldn’t have a reason to root for him. Even as a kid, his bad dreams and everything were just things happening to him. The only choice we got to see him make as a kid was to go to see that girl and watch a scary movie. Neither of those choices made me really want to root for him either. He was an underdog but he wasn’t trying. We root for underdogs when they seem to do all the right things but they cant get what they want. We do like to see they are imperfect and struggle with doing the right thing though too. Even with Katie. He didn’t get to choose anything there. I was most compelled when he was chatting with her on the phone trying to win her back. After that, she’s the one who decided to lock herself in the car. Another thing that happened to him that he had nothing to do with. I’ll talk more about this if they do a season 2 for sure!!

@@BecauseBecaBeBeca Although I never disagreed with how I interpreted your criticism, this explained your point a bit more to me. And I do agree with this. As I said, I enjoyed the lingering, but I do see that the no choice can/is and will be a problem if nothing changes. I am 90% sure a second season is in the making, might have been misinformed¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But it's something to look forward to(along with the show). I really hope it keeps up, and hopefully surpasses the first season in terms of writing. The sound design is just amazing and can't imagine they will disappoint in part 2:)

I'm so glad you finished the series! I was looking forward to the conclusion. I have listened to this series before, but I still like your thoughts. (After the video is over): Yes I totally agree that it ends satisfyingly and the directing is hit or miss. There is a S2 coming so we'll have to see what happens next. (Also you look great, btw. A little strong on the lipstick but beautiful otherwise. for the record, I'm just giving a compliment. not trying to be creepy.)
