We need to address Ben Davidson - what the hell was the game plan?? it was a complete disaster. This was AJ's worst EVER performance. Zero defence and wild swings. There is no point in retiring on that performance. Rematch DD and if it happens again retire. He can make the adjustments but it is all about if DD has taken his soul
@t.f.1345

Exactly...it can't get worse than yesterday. So rematch him, adjust, correct the mistakes and maybe he might put on a competitive performance. If not, well same happens again and he can end his career

Agreed. Boxing is a highly skilled sport. The lack of skill on display by Team Joshua yesterday was not acceptable. Team Joshua's gameplan was deeply deeply flawed in both attack and defense.

From a mental perspective, I think it’s very unlikely AJ can come back from this defeat against Dubois. However, AJ absolutely has the physical capability of defeating Daniel Dubois and erasing the mistakes he made in this fight, the main one being AJ constantly leaving his left hand low by his chest allowing Dubois to counter AJ with the right hand. Time will tell, but it looks like it’s the end of an era.

Sad for AJ, I don’t see any heavyweight having the same commercial success as AJ, Usyk & Tyson would be done in a year or 2. Not sure I’ll stick around after the 3 are done. ✌️

I think AJ should retire healthy. He has done very well in boxing and should call it a quit. He has had an incredibly envious career, loved by many and hated by some. What more can you ask for. He should avoid being used as a stepping stone by the younger generation. Credit to DDD. AJ got me worried right from the first round with his wobbly legs. It was so hard to watch. Ref ought to stop the fight earlier than he did. I think he should stop boxing and I mean this in good spirit as a Nigerian. I absolutely agree with everything you have said about AJ and his career as well as his future.

I'm now wondering if Spencer Fearon tried to leak that there was trouble in Daniel Dubois camp when Don Charles didn't show up because he know AJ was nervous and need some confidence. I also look back at the conference, the ring walk, before they were in the ring and AJ just look to stiff.

The path back to the top is actually very easy on paper. He has a rematch clause. If he wins that and Fury beats Usyk, they'll make the undisputed fight. Whether AJ is capable of beating Dubois is another question (I personally think he'd lose again). So in a perfect (delusional) world, AJ could be undisputed champion in 2 fights
@Ufhhh12

Even if AJ beat Dubois would most people accept him as the winner of this rivalry and consider him as the top dog in the division? When he came back against Ruiz most people were willing to overlook the 1-1 score as a fluke because he was ko'ing everyone before. But now he already lost 4 time, atleast 2 of them were pretty embarassing losses. I think he would need to rematch dubois and literally destroy him, probably destroy another 2-3 guys like Bakole maybe then. But the reality is just he isnt capable of doing this.

This is highly speculative. I do suspect the fight could’ve gone different if AJ had the right game plan down, and had the environment been different more of a quiet and mellow one. However, AJ’s team as at fault for such a bizarre game plan, and Dubious came with the right tactics and game plan to defeat aj.

after wilder fury aj there is no others we always get years and years without any characters in the game and it goes quiet those boring years are coming back , aj should take the rematch just to milk it might as well you can clearly see from ruiz fight aj is finished mentally such a shame that ruiz loss destroyed his ability to throw hands , yesterdays performance was tragic chin up in the air only throwing bombs now and then walks on to the ko tragic should have boxed using the jab he had longer reach all the advantage over dubois i think he lacks motivation its hard to get up and fight when your wearing silk pyjamas hagler.

On the night, DD was very good he came in with a game plan and when he was tested he responded admirably, but is he that great ? I saw a few holes, his gas is not great he was gassing already in the 4th after setting a high pace from the 1st to 3rd. And his chin is not the best either he was hurt in the 5th and he went down from an Uzyk jab.
