Fun sound! Very Tom Waits, gypsy jazz, Andrew bird vibes. Some of my favorite jams. Moody with a stumbling tonal center. I really do like the sentiment as well, on the face of it. But when I consider my own budget pedal-board, I don't know if those people were paid fair wages. I don't know what conditions they were working under. Certainly, the war you reference (i admit im not sure *which* war) is of no value to the common man in any lasting way. Wars of hate and misguided frustration, puppeterring and profiteering in equal measure. But man, there could be blood in those pedals too, right? Like, it's both a testament to how much we can share through cooperation... but if that plenty is made from suffering and deprivation then is it a peace worth preserving? The interconnectedness of globalization is awesome, but is it truly reciprocal to those who build and ship these things? Or is it just another war waged in spreadsheets and factories? Is this prosperity and availability a symbol of peace? Or is it a tool of pacification? Is it fair to all parties? If the guy with a soldering iron is making good from conversion rates, that's great. I just have trouble believing that's the case. I always like to remind myself... man, the future is awesome. We have so much cool shit. Sure, no flying cars... but headlights got slightly brighter and suddenly driving is unbearable. There's no way I'd trust these cunts with an aircraft. Anyway, happy 4th. Love and music, brother.

World peace for cheap gear! I like it. I bought the Mosky just to compare to the J. Rockett Archer (gold) that I had at the time. The Mosky put out just a tiny bit more line noise when engaged than the Rockett, but other than that they were practically indistinguishable. I sold the Rockett.

@@StillLivinginthewoods Very interesting. Since figuring out how to mitigate the noise with a dedicated and filtered power supply, that pedal is almost always in the lineup. If you combine it with the right distortion and IR, it can mimic Slash's sound pretty well too. Really like that pedal!

i do not want war. someone said that the opposite of being a soldier or in a war is being a musician or in a band . I have said , very often that i feel that as musicians , We should not compete with each other so much. I have also said the point behind all this is music , for me , it is not schmeegoling gear or competing to own tube , tape , analog. the mosky golden silver horse , for me does not go with any set up . if one is utilizing another circuit that shares a ground that also has a component which uses a CLOCK ... you will have a heterodyne oscillation . the physical orientation of the charge pump ic chip on the main of two pcbs inside the unit does not make it an easy candidate for replacement . i chose a more adventurous method for removing the offending charge pump ic to install a charge pump that does cost a bit more but it is also designed so that the oscillation will occur outside the range of the human ear .

Funny, I thought almost the exact thing about the Mosky golden horse too, so I put it aside for a while. Then one day while trying to figure out a way to modify it's circuit... somehow... I found a few guys saying that on account of a few unavoidable circuit design issues, it's EXTREMELY sensitive to a dirty power supply, and the only way to use the pedal without a massive circuit overhaul, is to use a dedicated and filtered power supply. Since then I've discovered an entire soundscape of blues/rock/hard rock/metal when combining it with other stuff. I looove that pedal!! Don't take that the wrong way tho, bro. It's just my preference. My favourite combo is a Boss D-1 clone before or after the golden horse. Smooth sounds, expressive and wide tonal range... Man! I love that pedal!!!

Thanks bro. That's a modified introduction for a song I composed about 15 years ago called "Blue by Association". I still have the original recording somewhere, I'll upload it sometime soon. You might like it. Done entirely with an acoustic guitar, a crappy computer microphone and sampled drum sounds hand placed with the audacity program. Ok, truth is the recording is very low quality. Buuut, the song is ok plus a little bit.
