"...We've flagged this talk for falling outside TEDx's content guidelines..." So you can't talk about important subjects that have the potential to help suffering people? Oh you can, as long as it's not cannabis. All the Ted talks about cannabis etc. are being almost completely censored/supressed. They get around 90% less views than other videos. Not sure if that's fair if the potential for helping people is as big as stated in this video. Wtf Ted?

Be careful what you mean by self love. In the long run, this concept might not be helpful. Self love works to a point, but love of self also contributes to a lot of our problems in society. Love for others is where most of our emotional energy should be spent. As we navigate this life, it is great to know that we were given such an intricate system to keep us balanced. God is the Master Scientist. And when this system breaks down, like all other biological systems eventually do, we’ve been given a plant that replicates key components of this system and reboots it and optimizes it so that we can stay healthy for longer... ease the journey through life a bit. I’m thankful for cannabis. If it makes your life better (not worse), then I believe there’s validity in its use.

the first Chordate life form to develop Endocannabinoid system was the Sea Squirt .. 5 billion years ago Sea Squirt developed this homeostasis system for all creatures with a spinal column to maintain their every cell via lipid signaling ... the ECS is a way for cells to communicate backwards and not just straight forward ... endocannabinoids are the only neurotransmitters to travel backwards ( retrograde) and inform interior of cell to the extracellular matrix .. this information provides cells with a baseline to adjust the signaling ( homeostasis) ... each cannabinoid that expresses ( depolarization induced second messenger compounds) is created from the cellular phospholipids ( phospholipid bi layer) being bio synthetically created @ the moment of demand ... the cannabinoids do not store in any vesicles or tissues and are only created on demand ... Hence, why extracellular cannabinoids ( phytocannabinoids) can "as non selective agents" express upon our cellular bi layers @ the moment of need ... Still, How is it that cannabis plant compounds bio-mimic endogenously created compounds ? and these are Lipids, so do not crystallize into efferent structures easily ( it takes way more enzymes to form a cannabinoid from a lipid precursor) so their bio-activity / psycho activity was hard to identify with . endocannabinoid system too relies on outside lipids ( essential fatty acid) to maintain best expression .. when we do not eat or consume essential fatty acids our ECS does not have those signaling pre cursor lipids to form effective amounts of endocannabinoids . this is known as clinical endocannabinoid deficiencies ... diets consisting of way more omega six than omega three creates more inflammation in our bodies ... cannabis seems to act more so through omega three pathways as more of an anti oxidant

Plenty of omega 3 fatty acids attainable today. The American diet is sorely lacking in many phytonutrients. If people would concentrate more on obtaining phytonutrients and omega 3's, maybe they wouldn't be so encouraged to reach for the pot. Sold as 'Flowers' these are CBD rich cannabis buds. You can cook them into oil / butter and the Cannabinoids are activated. So you can eat them however you'd like, or smoke them. Unfortunately the unjust prohibition of the cannabis plant has meant that we, as a society have little understanding or availability of the plant. The cannabis sold on the streets has morphed into a 'harder' drug as it has been selectively bred over years, to give as strong-a 'high' as possible, to give higher cashflow per crop / growth space to the illegal dealers. Also cannabis absorbed nutrients in the soil, so illegal grows could be sprayed etc. Organic cannabis in varying strains should be readily available to the public and be much much better funded for research.

You nailed it! Sadly big pharma has much to be accountable for. Medical practice has been "bought" by the drug companies, and the medical schools, medical boards, and individual doctors have been seduced by the very sophisticated and self-serving guile of the drug companies. It has been in pharma's interest to make "practice" for physicians easier by providing a "pill or potion" for every occasion, rather than the physician having to assess the patient's total needs and tailor a treatment for each individual. The day WILL come when medicine will be "integrated" and holistic, but it will be an uphill battle until our elected representatives truly want to serve their constituents rather than their own power and interests. Pharma buys elections! As a physician, I am witness to this practice and it is shameful!

cannabis plant has to much going on to measure with any accuracy in medical research ... the pharma industry will only look at one cannabis molecule at a time and make a synthetic form etc....

It is not just big pharma that shadows physician decisions. Even worse is big insurance. Every 15 minutes of a physician's time is intensely commodified and regulated for maximum profit.

I have had some chronic pain and illnesses for much of my life. I can say that I personally smoked a lot of weed in my younger years, but gave it up thinking it harmful. Recently after some health challenges, and living in a recreational legal state, I decided to give it a go. I can tell you without doubt that my body had started to repair itself, and that I feel a distinct energy flow in my body that has been absent for so long I didn’t realize it was missing. If you’re curious, I say it’s worth the experiment!

"While cannabis and CBD are an emerging field of study, their associated health effects remain inconclusive and unsupported by current scientific evidence." The first 1:40 shows the conclusive health effects. smh😞

we found an entirely unknown physiological system in man and figured out how the system works via research of THC .... the Endocannabinoid system largest physiological system in man and controls all other systems ... docs are not even taught ECS in med schools !!! some docs hate cannabis and will not even go there and research the person in relation . greedy docs with no benefits from prescribing their drugs , plant eaters just keep eating plants !!!

To my amaze, this is my first time viewing this. When I learned of the ECS some years back, I began to study it and understand how it works. Everything you've presented in this video solidifies it immensely. Learning of this system and correcting my behaviors and circadian rhythyms has improved my quality of life tenfold. Thank you for this wonderful video. 11:58 ❤

We have been educating our customers in our stores all about phytocannabinoids and endocannabinoids. We've found that our shops gain far more popularity with customers because all of our staff is required to learn from people like Dr. Rachel Knox. If you ever shop for Cannabis products (we're in NC and sell what is legal here and ship in USA), be sure to ask questions to make sure the person helping has some depth of knowledge beyond "yeah, it's got THC and some other stuff in it." We hope TEDx and others expand their talks with more on natural healing tools!

When many people look for something, we increased the possibility of finding the plant. Thank you for the 20 minutes of stopping the shakes and tremors. In Ecuador, we will copy this experience. Greetings from Portoviejo city
