It's the connections between people of Crowley's era that interest me--the interconnections between the lights of the day is fascinating. One person of interest is WB Yeats who feuded with Crowley over the Golden Dawn--Yeats was a great poet but also a bit of an oddball. Another person with Crowley connections was someone who is not as well known: Ka Cox. She died in quite mysterious circumstances following some sort of seance at Crowley's home in Cornwall. Some have blamed Crowley but the whole thing was hushed up so the reality of what happened is lost to the sands of time. Why else is Ka Cox interesting? Well, she was engaged to the War Poet Rupert Brooke (he died from an infected mosquito bite while on his way to participate in the battle of Gallipoli; his health wasn't good beforehand either and he'd been recuperating from pneumonia at the home of Winston Churchill before going off to war). Ka Cox was also known for being friends with and saving the life of Virginia Woolf. After the WW1, Ka married William-Arnold Foster (who assisted in the creation of the League of Nations) and bore him a son--Mark Arnold Foster who was known for the esteemed book and TV series World At War. After Ka's death, William Arnold-Foster married a widow, Ruth Leigh-Mallory. Yes, the wife of the late mountaineer George Leigh-Mallory who was lost on Everest during the 1924 Expedition. Ah, connections! Have I studied this period in time too much? Perhaps.

Yes the WB Yeats 'Golden Dawn' clearly linked with Crowley... Scriabin (musical occultist supreme!) also died from infected mosquito bite, from a Himalayan expedition (which Crowley went on) as did Rupert Brooke. Poetry, music, the occult, and adventure all linked at this post-Romantic point

Crowley couldn’t live up to the requirements of the Abramelin working, and cut it short. Thus, while he would like to have thought Aiwass was his HGA, It was not. Google Image search Aiwass, and you’ll find Crowley’s drawing of this entity. It looks a LOT like the first description of a “Grey”.
