Just curious if you guys had previous rock climbing experience before attempting this? I've been bouldering and rope climbing for a few years and even i felt my hands get a little wet watching you guys ascend!! Top work, i hope to do this myself one day!

We have both had a bit of experience at climbing. Although most of it's not actually as vertical as it looks, more of a steep scramble. It's really only the "round the outside" bit that involves actual climbing - but there's plenty of handholds and footholds - just don't do it on a wet day, and make sure you have a secure grip before you "use" that hand or foot...

Ohh nooo! You went around the left side of the difficult part after the cave with the sheer drop! People have got in serious trouble by slipping off doing it that way, so I would say to anyone watching this to not copy. Although it doesn't look like it initially, you can definitely bum shuffle up the middle between the cracks, which is following the direction of the arrow and where the trail is meant to go..

Thanks for your opinion on this. I did evaluate both options when I got up there, after reading a lot of other people's experiences - I'm not so sure it's as simple as "don't go around the outside". While the "inside" route does have less far to fall should you do so, there's also a lot less to hold onto, making a fall more likely. The "outside" route is a lot easier to climb - it has much larger hand and foot holds - but has much greater consequences for failing. You'd certainly want to be confident in your climbing abilities. As we ascended, I did see a few following people slip while on the "inside" route, obtaining minor scrapes. That said, if you do have concerns about climbing, there's also Canyon Track, and you can skip the whole thing.

@@aussiebiking The "scary" bit of the climb was near vertical - about 75 to 80 degrees - not quite vertical and definitely no leanback. The earlier bits were probably about 60-70 degrees - steep enough to have to use your hands (and your brain), on the border between being a scramble and a climb.
