Hi Brad, new subscriber, great job on the guitar build, I just started and it is tireless failure and learning. I I realized I didn’t need a primer when I watched your channel, I had it my build prepped with vinyl sealer from behlen. I put primer on it and I screwed up, had to melt it off , got to sand the rest off and reseal the wood. Thanks 😊

Dude, you're not as bad of a guitar player as you think. My plan for demos is to pick a "song" that I'll play parts from, a clean part, a distorted part maybe a blues grit part. I use that same set of licks for all my videos to have a reference that I can go back to later and do a compilation video of all the different "tones"! Do you think that is a decent idea? Love this guitar and as always, thanks for doing this!
@BradAngove

That’s a great idea if you want to give consistent demos of a number of guitars.

Looking nice and sounding good. You mentioned about a buzz on the bridge, wonder if the neck angle isn't quite enough leading to not enough break angle and tension over the bridge? Is the stoptail screwed right down.
@BradAngove

The neck angle is good. Action is nice. I didn’t notice the bridge issue during the demo, but it want sitting quite right before. May have settled a bit by now.

Thanks Brad - build this kit following your videos. Went with a more rustic home-depot-deck-stain and gun oil finish, but its definitely got a vibe :). The solo bridge was pretty terrible IMHO, so I put a tonepros TOM on it and I modified the kit for a stop bar instead of the trapeze. Put some Fralin humbucker sized P90’s in and I love it.
@BradAngove

Good video series just a few questions, Why did you for a floating bridge as opposed to a fixed, And when I checked out Oxford supply their Varnishes are all spry but can I use a brush instead because I don't have the equipment to spry ?
@BradAngove
2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you mean about the bridge. Mine is fixed. Do you mean the tailpiece? You should be able to brush on the Oxford, but you may need to mix in some retarder. Is a spray mix right now so it dries very fast. If you contact Oxford directly they can probably provide better info.
