If anyone is thinking about UX design - just know it's incredibly hard to land a job. I am happy I did this course, but I have yet to find a job after a year. The market is too saturated, with too many layoffs, and not enough entry-level positions for transitioning career professionals. You would do better learning UX design on the side and going to front-end development instead. Though, IF you are in your 20s and money is not a concern, dig into UX design. I absolutely loved it!

Another benefit is to also learn UI. A lot of roles want few people who can do both, especially in video games where i work.

Also, remember that every other aspiring UX Designer will be polishing their skills and portfolio, so it has to be competitive. I highly recommend to have some sort of technical skills like Front-end development or content writing experience. I went with the code route, but that was back when bootcamps still combined ux and front-end into one track without charging separately. I'm not sure how it is now, but it looks more like bootcamps are more expensive than before.

Thanks god there is no colour pallets and all this random UI repeating from video to video and from year to year pieces, having nothing in common with the design itself :) Great material, thanks for your thoughts and resources!

SuperApps are often (not always!) overwhelming because it's hard to build a visual hierarchy when you have a lot of services in one place. Also sometimes due to the economy of development process the functionality feels like being reduced in comparison with the separate service app. Take the Grab app for example, you cannot order a taxi without walking through ads banners and some food delivery vouchers, or order groceries without closing the app for a sec, otherwise your cart will be emptied and you have to start again. This is also what a UX designer along with Product designer should keep in mind while making design for SuperApp.

It's better not to shoot with the hands crossed and the speed is a little slow, but other than that, great video! and I like the camera "bokeh" effect with lights) cosy! As for the content, it's interesting. I never thought that super apps could be popular in US or Europe, but we'll see. Planet-centric design trend is very real. Look how many startups and big companies are focused on recycle and renewable energy. As for the Juniors UXers....well, guys, I wish you good luck) I couldn't find a job so far with a CF course and portfolio with 3 case studies. Recruiters look down upon those "school projects" and want real experience so I suggest finding clients asap and work pro bono until you'll have enough experience to present. They are too many of us on the market lol

Right off the bat, I think the insistence that USA/Canada/UK would be interested in "super apps" is fundamentally misunderstanding the culture of those places. Keeping things separated and specialized is a cultural tendency that is applied in many aspects of their day to day lives and not something people are particularly interested in moving away from. That, and the web browser is already a pretty strong "super app". Having a super app inside a super app is just redundant and starts to show elements of pyramid schemes moreso than the existing platforms like Google App Store / Apple App Store / Microsoft App Store / etc. Past a point, more links within more links within more links just becomes a redundant abstraction.

Absolutely great video like usual. I still don't understand the difference between Content Design & information Architecture, sounds like they're pretty much the same, anyone can help?
@ayoubertil7356
Жыл бұрын
Content design is all about the text or content (button text, title,paragraph and so on),while information architecture is the organization of all elements in the design including titles, buttons, images,labels..
@akramdahmani7214
Жыл бұрын
@@ayoubertil7356 so content design is about deciding whether to use "Sign up for free" vs "Get your free trial" or what image to use, and IA is about WHERE the button should sit on a page and where the image should be placed ,,, is that right?
@adesignerlife
Жыл бұрын
Information Architecture is the sequence and levels of what, how and where a certain information is discovered by user when they land on a website. like home page will have 4 tabs followed by 3 sub nav. So essentially it’s the site map in simple terms. Where’s content design is concerned with naming each label and writing each description/text/copy throughout your site or app.

Gojek is only applicable in Indonesia/develop country. i came from Indonesia, and it easy using gojek/grab because it acommodate the facilities we often use daily. Motorcyle,streetfood,car ... but it will not work in America (which i curently living now). The reason is, there is no street vendor, birocracy too dificult and distance between city/county is massive.

Business schools will soon begin to teach their students how to use AI tools to take out the middleman (UX) and empower the business or product owner how to do the research and produce the experience. Within 10 years UX will be a business skill just like using Excel.

“Planet centric design” OMG. Just like Norman Nielsen said a long time ago. The Design Industry has invented fancy words and that confused the audience. Personally I’ve been a UX Designer for 8 years now and let me tell you this: There is NO innovation coming for the UX Process. And also thanks to AI, UI Design will be very very easy to do, check how many Design System are out there for you to copy from Figma, also there is a feature in Figma working as a ChatGPT for components. Prediction: There will be less and less differentiation between UX and UI Design. So there will be much more companies looking for a Full Stack Designer. Because UI will be get very very easy to do. And UX just got to a point that have mature enough as discipline that everybody has an opinion and also there is no innovation coming. Designers will be pay less than the past years. UX golden years as the cool discipline that makes you earn good salary is gone. Now the hype is being a Data Scientist o ML specialist.
