Here’s a little story I made up for the eternal ballroom: you and your friends are mostly easygoing laid back people in your town. One day, you and your friends get invited to some party at a nearby mansion you always pass by. So you and your friends go to the party, everyone there were very rich, but you and your friends dressed as normal middle class people. Unbeknownst to you, a rich girl had her heart set for you, as she always observed you when you pass by her mansion each day to go to the restaurant called the “glizzy gobbling hut.” She waited for a chance like this to invite you and dance the night away. However, you and your friends are only interested in the food being served, so she tries everything to get your attention to dance the night. Eventually, you do notice, but also noticed that half of the original guests are gone, and your friends are nowhere in reach. She asks if you want to take this dance with her, and you just stand there deciding to take her hand or not.

You likely already know this, based on the comment, but the hotel that this photo was taken at was the hotel that Stephen king stayed at and got inspiration for the shining! And The Stanley hotel doesn’t try to hide it at all. They have rooms, tours, and even EVENTS based on the shining. I’m planning on going there this spring break!

My grandmother told me she had a dream of her beloved father who had passed away years earlier. When she saw him she hugged him and asked “Dad, where are you?” and he replied, “Oh Beb, you’d love it. We dance every night, like old times.” He and my great-grandmother were very much into dancing, from the 1940s onward… this reminds me of the place he spoke of somehow. Thank you.

I found this master aesthetic of a video back in April of 2022, and I want to say that I have been binge-listening any original music or just playlists inspired by the backrooms since that creepypasta basically made everyone want to make something, song or otherwise so I don't have to

You are walking along and someone invites you into a dance hall. You walk in and are told to change. Somehow they have a tux/dress in your size. Almost like it was tailored to fit exactly you. You go out and find the ballroom. You dance and dance yet never feel tired. Eventually, you try to return home, but you can’t find the door you came in. There seems to be no windows or exit. Yet somehow, the longer you stay, the better you feel. No more hunger. No need for sleep. Just endless winding halls. And in all this formality, you find that you’re a prisoner. And somehow, you don’t mind.

I Can’t Get Started is one of my favorites from the era. Did you use the Swing Era album version? (The one with remade versions of songs from the era) Or did you use the original version by Bunny Berigan?

@@c.m.inabnit3620 If you can, I’d highly recommend getting The Swing Era. It’s a massive collection going from 1930 all the way to 1945 released in 1972 on vinyl, though some of the albums are on Spotify too. They’re completely re-recorded versions of swing, pop and jazz from those years. Almost all of the musicians in these re-recordings were part of those original bands as well. I have all 11 box sets (each with 3 vinyls and a book per box) and it’s honestly one of the best ways to experience these tracks anew.

Hi, I’m doing a Christmas lecture on 1930s - 1950s female aviators at the RAF Museum in December and wonder if I could use this audio as the pre lecture music? It’s an online lecture?? Sorry for random request 😂
@c.m.inabnit3620

Sure I don't mind, I do just want to let you know that the background noise with the buzzing of the florescent lights might be a bit off-putting since I made this with the intention of being somewhat of a horror thing, so be mindful of that. But otherwise I have no problem with it and would actually be happy to contribute this since my family has a lot of Air Force history.
@sallymcg6714

Oh, it’s not off putting at all, all those creaks sound like the rafters in the wind in an empty hangar! I found it really evocative! If you look on the RAF Museum website, you’ll see my lecture (it’s Free) with the Crowdcast sign up link, it’s on 15 December, it’s called ‘The Forgotten Few’ and us about ex WRAFVR pilots who were awarded full RAF wings. The sound and music is perfect to get everyone in the spirit (no pun intended) !!
