I understand exactly how you feel.. I've been an Everly lover since 1958 and it breaks my heart that I never had a chance to see them in person. Their superb harmony and the fantastic songs they shared with us and I feel I should have at least attempted to write them to tell them how grateful I was to them for sharing their journey with all of us... I can only pray they knew and felt how very much we all loved them.

Sr. Donal...

I was so lucky to see them a few times after the Reunion Concert in my early 20s. Prior to that I was 12 or 13 in the 70s when I heard Cathy's Clown on the radio and although I had heard their beautiful harmonies before on the radio, this song hooked me in and have been a life long fan since. Wings of a Nightingale was the newest song released after their reunion which I still play as its such a great tune. I even pre ordered the LP in vinyl. I eventually got it on cd tho. Excellent tunes and sad that they are both gone. However their music will always live on.

Des lied when he said they were playing live, the TV company insisted that they recorded the track in a studio earlier that day and lip synced it, I know this is true as I was told by one of the band members. (Note, they were great live performers and it was an insult to insist on this.)
@v-g-z3689

Yes, I´ve read that on an other video of this performance, tha bass player wrote it I think, but I can´t find the comment anymore. One can kind of see that Des is lying by how he looks when he says it. However, I find it fascinating how well they lipsynched. Look at 0:59, when Phil comes along with the harmony slightly late and Don looks over to him "where are you brother?" I think that´s great :)

This is a copy of my upload. I mixed the sound - we recorded the audio a few hours before the audience came in with just a couple of run throughs for balance on that same stage. So it was lip-synced, but Des probably meant that it had been performed live for the show.

Wow! The energy!! Best performance, for this song, that I’ve seen/heard...sounding even better than the car video...& then, I read a few comments that this was lip-synced. Really! If so, it was a damn good one! And, how does the band handle a lip-synced recording when they’re present on stage?🤔 Are they muted? Or did the boys record without them?...And, band is live...boys not? Ha! I’ve never quite understood how they lip-synch while playing the guitar. Okay, I’ll Google it! 😉. Nevertheless...Love the boys, & the band🤗!

Hi Glenda, they had to go into the studio that day and record it for the show that night as confirmed by bass player Phil Cranham. Probably due to live television the live performance could not be done. Regards.
@v-g-z3689
@@EB84 That is correct. Doing it live on the TV show wasn´t possible for whatever reason. Either technical reasons or the company didn´t want it. So Don and Phil went into the studio with the musicians that can be seen on stage and recorded the song "live" in the studio. So the full band together with the Brothers playing all together. This is the recording you hear, and I agree, the lip syncing was done damn well.
