From being able to drink directly from the lake in the past, to needing treatment plants for safe drinking water today, Dr. Hart shares the historical evolution of water access in Indigenous communities. Dr. Hart highlights the current barriers faced in obtaining funding and retaining expert operators. As a result, many communities are still on long term boil water advisories. The urgent need for better support and resources for Indigenous communities to maintain their water quality is emphasized.
