May all their souls rest in peace. Henry Viii was brutal and savage when it came to women around him. He was a cruel husband and harsh father to his daughters. Margaret Pole's execution proved he lacked basic empathy. No one was safe in Tudor England. Thank God we were not born in that era.

Let's pretend for a second that Henry was just compleate nuts of paranoia and whispers from the court. Anne would face the sword even if she was pregnant cos henry would belive it was from one of her lovers. She never stood a chance.

Henry knew she wasn't screwing around. The only proof you need is that he kept Elizabeth around. He just needed Anne gone because he didn't think she was going to give him a son and she was too in his business about running the kingdom.

Moriko 89 except he wasn't nuts he knew full well what he was doing ! Killing an innocent woman he claimed to have once loved I think Henry was incapable of love he was obsessed with Anne.But Once he had her the thrill was gone and she did not give him a male heir and she was very intelligent all those things worked against her Henry did not like to be outshined or told what to do Anne refused to sit quietly while he had his mistress Jane she confronted him and that had to enrage Henry that incident also caused the miscarriage of the boy Anne wascarrying of course Henry blamed her for that too he was incapable of taking any responsibility for anything that went bad in his life it was his wives or his daughters's faults or Cromwell. I mean Cromwell was to blame Partly for what happened to Anne and he got what he deserved when Henry had him beheaded but it wasn't anyone's fault but Henry's that he did not stop the murders of Anne and Catherine Howard her teenage cousin and the other innocents

Many in Europe though Henry VIII went too far in the execution of Margaret Pole and they were right. Jane Grey's parents were terrible! They didn't care for her.

I’ve never understood why the unfairly condemned of both sexes gave statements of guilt and loyalty to the monarch who betrayed them, especially Henry VIII. What would have happened if they had told the truth? Be executed again?
@aprilgosa5779
Жыл бұрын
Most did not state guilt Anne did not she did give a speech of love to the KIng but that's because she did love him but she never said she was guilty because she wasn;t and that would be lying and Margaret Pole was defiant to the end You Go Girl! Catherine Howard I do not believe confessed guilt in her last speech except maybe t the events before she was married which I believe were abuse I think she was innocent of adultery and I think that the men executed with her were tortured into confessing at least one of them
