A smply amazing opening to a piece of Art, truth,honesty,love, dignity, solace, serenity, spirituality, fear, contentment, hope, ethics, belief, joy, pain, and reflection of "life". The first few minutes of this film are the most important and the scene with the fighting dogs and the Priest standing on the tight hand of the Almighty still gives me goosebumps. There is no other film which can be considered to be the same. ... the message of the film for me is to know there is good and evil in every person and that your doubts about a spirtual higher power" can be set aside... and that the power of evil can be just as strong as the power of "good". Louise Mitchell - It’s actually not singing. It’s a traditional way of calling muslims to prayer to the mosque or the time for prayer starts. If you hear on youtube the recitation of the Quran is also not singing. It is just the way the Quran is recited in its true form. In the Islamic narrative, the Quran is literally the words of God in Arabic and the way it was recited is the way God recited to the Angel Jibreel (peace be upon Jibreel) and pass it down to the Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and he just repeated what he heard. It’s not even poetry either, it’s a completely different arabic literature of its own which is unique and inimitable.

I watched this movie when I was 8 years old, and I am now 30 years old. I used to love horror movies very much, but despite that, no horror movie ever scared me except this masterpiece. For me as an Arab and Muslim, when I heard the call to prayer at the opening of the film, I got goosebumps because according to Muslims, the call to prayer expels all demons and evils from a person. The culture of exorcism is an inter-religious and real culture. My uncle was an exorcist, and what was happening to Regan in the movie is completely identical to what was happening with the people from whom he was exorcising demons, but not as in the picture in the movie. I mean the frightening appearance and sound and some physical movements such as the movement of turning the head 360. ° But in terms of behavior, the attempt to desecrate the sanctities, and speaking in languages that the person did not previously know, it is completely identical to what happens in the movie. The difference between Muslims and Christians in the process of exorcism is that Muslims exorcise spirits using the Holy Qur’an, and the Qur’an is the word of one God. We believe in Jesus, but we believe that he is the Messenger of God, not God. Holy water for Muslims is water over which the Qur’an has been read. As for Christianity, they expel spirits through the Bible, and the Bible is the word of God. They consider God to be Jesus the Son and at the same time God. Holy water is water taken from the Jordan River. I felt that the director and writer knew that exorcism in Christianity would not work because the Christian concept of God is fundamentally wrong. I apologize for saying that, but this is the reality. That is why the director and writer made the exorcism at the end of the film useless and ended the film by making Demian Karras sacrifice his life. By asking the devil to possess him and then throwing himself out of the window... proof that what I said is correct, which is that Demian Karras was having a problem with faith before he saw the devil possessing Regan, but in the end he lost his faith again and chose to sacrifice himself because the process of exorcism would not It works. Additional proof is that the film also ends with the sound of the call to prayer, which is not a coincidence. It felt like a message from the director saying that exorcism in the Islamic way is the correct one. I bet that the director and writer were well informed about Islamic culture and it influenced them greatly.

Its basically must to reference islam in a movie about exorcism, because Islam has an old and still on going tradition of Exorcism (Ruqyah), the Kalimat and Takbir are fundamental in it, also the recitation of quran (Ayat ul kursi, al kahf, Nas, Ikhlas etc.) Are widely popular in these cases.

Lyrics: Each phrase is traditionally drawn out longer than the last. Allahu Akbar (four times) Ash-hadu alla ilaha illallah (twice) Ash-hadu anna Muhammadar Rasulullah (twice) Hayya alassalah (twice) Hayya alal-Falah (twice) Allahu Akbar (twice) La ilaha illallah Note: after consideration, I think, for this video, each phrase is said once or twice. I believe the phrasing is stopped at the 4th phrase.

The Devil or demon in the Exorcist is either Satan or one of his fallen angels i.e Pazuzu. It's implied however that the demon is in-fact Satan/Lucifer and is using one of it's many names. Such a creepy, nightmare inducing film,

I remember seeing an exorcism of a woman wearing a white hood possessed by a jinn here on youtube and it was one of the freakiest things I ever saw. Her skin was almost as white as her robe and her eyes were solid black and her voice was all distorted and deep. It could have easily been faked with today's technology and editing but I swear that was the real deal.

Great opening scene and movie. This opening scene seems cozy and creepy at the same time. Somehow it contrasts the rest of the movie. There is a lot of open space, movement, thoughness and evil is tolerable here. In the rest of the movie everything happens in that house, evil is concentrated, undilluted and intolorable for everyone.

random question, but is the chanting the Islamic Call to Prayer?
@xaioxaio11
9 жыл бұрын
Yes it is.I believe this is only partial but along with being a call to prayer, it is also the verse that makes up one of the 5 pillars of Islam. The man says "God is great" 4 times then he says that he bears witness that there is no god but God two times and then says he bears witness that Mohammed is the messenger of God two times. I hope what i wrote wasn't too confusing it's just that I didn't want to write the verse in its entirety because the verse is very sacred and to casually quote the verse can be considered blasphemous to some.
