yeah.. even Babylon 5 wich was one of the first to aproach physics realisticly oversighted this.. in B5 "non gravity" ships like the Hyperion class cruisers or the Olympus corvettes are still arranged like a naval ship with the crew simply straped to seats.. while in reality whenever they would be acelerating they would still putting that G into gravity of the rear bulkheads...it would be like effectivly being straped to a seat wich is vertically in a wall.. not just that.. even rotating section ships (like the Omegas) would had that too despite the rotation so if the ship acelerated forward unstraped crews would still fly to the back of the room.. the most confortable and efficient way to travel with real life technology would be to acelerate at 1G up to the middle of the travel.. flip arround and "acelerate" the other half at same 1G in oposite way.. and voila.. you have had 1G "gravity" all the way. with no exotic magnetic or gravitic system or rotating sections

That moment when the battle hardened Captain Theresa Yao, with her elite crew aboard the most sophisticated and technologically advanced spacecraft of the time, looking at the door being breached, with a furrowed brow and a tense face, says with great regret " _I didn't think we could lose._ " before triggering the self-destruct sequence. when you have 9k personel on board, along with baracks. have years of combat experience fighting smaller pirate ships. and then give up when somehow magically 2 small ships with a few boarding parties can overpower your entire crew compliment... besides since when did boarding become an effective method of assaulting a ship lmao. they could just seal the whole deck, the home crew even has a superior defencive ground advantage. but that just the start of the strange wierd story tropes of the expanse show

@@tracymetherell8744 so the martians designed a massive ship like that so damn poorly that with a massive crew couldnt stop just 2 boarding parties of ships barely 1/5 its size? No internal lockdown systems or defencive measures, in fact they even had to shut down the main engine because of what? Its overheated?! Im starting to feel the martians are only skilled in name only. In fact if you awnser with "because the railguns overheated" then how do the smaller stealth ships fire railguns rappidly who are developped by just one company barely the size of the martian state and go in suicidally as this attack was surely going to get them killed and still win?!

I would had call it "Fat Lucy" to imply the name of a wife and the purpose of transporting cargo, but then a cargo ship would want it's name to instill doubt/fear to pirates so "Firehawk" might be better, in the end "Rocinante" is kind of cloudy stupid so comes out ok. In Eve online quite a few people name their ship a variation of "bait"+something so the pirates remember it might be a trap

Objectively (what most people think)? Best damn Science Fiction show in a decade. Subjectively (what I think) second best science fiction show ever made. It is set in a time period rarely touched by space shows. Advanced enough that its not near future, but not star trek advanced where we have technology that is indistinguishable from magic. It is also probably the hardest (realistic) science fiction show ever put on tv. (no transporters, or warp drives, or rubber head aliens). Newtonian physics, so gravity is generated through spinning or accelerating things. The locations involved are real locations. Space ships operate like they are in space and not in an atmosphere... so no inertia.. ect
@Manuelomar2001
8 жыл бұрын
Objectively does not mean "what most people think". That's not what objective means. What most people think is still an opinion. All opinions are SUBJECTIVE. Something objective would be a measurable, testable fact: How much something weights. How long it is. How many episodes have aired for a show. How many GeV it takes to accelerate a particle in a vacuum, etc.
@bjahava
8 жыл бұрын
***** Ok grammar Nazi that is why I put it parenthesis. Its objective truths are still measurable on the opinion of most people. Look at its ratings as an example; no space show holds such high critical acclaim in the last decade. That is measurable and based of the opinions of the masses. Look at the demand it has garnered world wide. Netflix just bought the show because of the demand it is generating in countries without Syfy or Space channel is immense. Based on the opinions of people world wide. That is what I meant when I said objectively. (Based of the opinions of most people).
@Manuelomar2001
8 жыл бұрын
Jahobes No, not at all. I was not being a "grammar nazi". You are failing to understand a basic concept. This is fundamental, basic idea that any elementary school kid understands. Objective truths having NOTHING to do with the opinions of people. A measurement is objective, a descriptor like "Best" is always *subjective*, no matter what, because it is not quantifiable. Even in your own example, you are failing to understand the distinction. If you took a poll, and the Expanse got the most votes, you could *Objectively* say "The Expanse gardened 11,324 votes (or whatever number) while show B only got 7,234 vote." A count of the votes would be objective. Saying how many episodes have aired would be objective. Listing how many awards it has been nominated for is objective. Those things can be measured. Those are seperate from opinions like "best damn". Those are not objective, ever. I get the impression that you are not well educated, and/or very young, so maybe I'm wasting my time explaining this to you.

Something I never quite understood about the Donnager/Amun-Ra Protogen Stealth-Frigates battle was that first, the Donnager “splashed” FOUR of the six attacking stealth frigates. Then-once the Donnager’s reactor-housing unit was hit by a missile, breaching pods from the TWO remaining Amun-Ra stealth frigates (pods which together could not have contained more than 200 mercenaries) allowed a comparatively small number of mercenaries to board the battleship. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OVER TWO THOUSAND OFFICERS AND CREW OF THE DONNAGER?!?!?!? In the scenes in which the Canterbury crew are being taken to the Tachi for evac, we see only *A TINY HANDFUL* of Martian Marines fighting the mercenaries. The battleship looks largely ABANDONED, except on its sealed bridge. What happened to the 2086 members of the Donnager’s crew complement? It doesn’t seem to me, at least, that the flagship of the MCRN Jupiter Fleet would be so easy to board and capture.

Of course, both ships are Mars-based ships and share the same quad engine formation.
