Incredible as always. I can't believe you've developed an online meshuggah calculator. That is so awesome. Interesting that the final riff actually feels like it goes against Meshuggah's usual philosophy and the feel definitely becomes dominated by the "guest". There is an unnatural emphasis because of that '2' triplet subdivision that means the 4/4 feels totally occluded (must be sooooo hard to play...) and the 4 triplet phrase to bring it back around also just feels jagged... I suppose it could be viewed that the rhythmic mechanism is mutilating and distorting until it becomes something undeniably grotesque... however, the fact it still exists within the host's parameters do go to show an unwavering dedication to their method, even though on this occasion it would've been easier on the ear to miss out those final 4 triplets... perhaps it is conceptually leaning into the final throes of the machines torture method - that the victim is now twisted and beaten beyond all form and function by the exquisite machine, yet it is still living and existing in this world, just barely barely compatible with life...
