American Frame, a Maumee-based company which serves as an artist hub, framing space, collaboration spot, and gallery has partnered with The Sight Center to feature the works of area artists who are legally blind. Nearly 30 original paintings were on display and available for purchase in the American Frame gallery throughout the month of July.
Artists featured include:
Dave Wisniewski - Toledo native known for his larger-than life western scenes and cowboy images, whose award-winning work is on display locally and has been on exhibit across the country.
Jeannine Dailey -Toledo resident and former University of Toledo Art Instructor whose murals grace the walls of more than a dozen buildings and whose work has been on display at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
Mike Sager - Third-generation artist from Napoleon whose art was featured in the 2017 & 2018 Holiday Greeting Card Collections at the Cleveland Sight Center.
All three artists have significant vision impairments, all are former Sight Center clients, all are local artists, and all have been publicly recognized for their paintings. This combination of factors resulted in American Frame choosing them as the featured exhibit for July 2019.
The purpose of the exhibit is to celebrate the works of these talented artists and to inspire others to believe that a physical limitation doesn’t limit a person’s dreams, creativity or goals.
