On April 26, 1991 a volatile severe weather setup presented itself across the central and southern U.S. plains. A rare high risk for thunderstorms and tornadoes was issued by the Storm Prediction Center on the day prior. The day itself would live up to the hype with dozens of tornadoes touching down including the Andover, Kansas F5 tornado. The tornado would be notable for numerous reasons including the fact that it almost hit two separate nuclear bombs. The tornado would end up claiming 17 lives and would leave it's mark on the land and the people forever. This video documents this tornado and the volatile weather setup that led to this historic outbreak as well.
