Fun fact: In the comics when Bruce and Jennifer were kids they were both not accepted by their peers. Bruce for being a nerd and Jennifer for being a tomboy. So they were best friends. Bruce was shy and was constantly bullied, so she fought for him even if it meant she was hurt. They both grew up and Bruce became a scientist and Jennifer a lawyer. When he became Hulk he distanced himself from her for awhile before rekindling their friendship. Only for Jennifer to get shot and Bruce wanting to save her like she used to for him gave up his blood for her turning her into a hulk. Imagine if they used this backstory to make the show. I’m sure it would have been infinitely better.

I wonder how aware the writers were for this show. "You really thought Meg the stallion, this amazing acclaimed award winning artist was into you? How egotistical and delusional are you? Of course you got catfished and scammed!" One guy rejects Jen because he was only interested in Shulkie (you know the name and image she used on her dating profile, and the form she attended the date on). Then one lied just to get her blood. But because those men (1 actually) used her they are the jerks and she's the victim who deserves pity for thinking these guys actually liked her for her. And although there were fourth wall breaks in the comic why does it feel like they aren't doing them as she would in the comics with the exception of the final episode? I was iffy on the overlord DVD/Doomcock ref as well but realized the possibility that it was meant to be a call out to him became stronger when they said they wrote things that way to bait "the trolls". And they were drawing from irl examples. If it was meant to be more like anonymous then they could've used a different mask off a character in the MCU we've seen before. They were poking a bear there. My whole issue with their excuse of writing the whole show so badly as bait is 1. You can't use the excuse that it's just misogynistic people hating on she hulk because she's a woman leading a marvel series. She had already earned her stripes in the comics and cartoons. She-hulk was a show with an established character people were actually looking forward to. Thus 2. The hate was never aimed towards the character. All criticism was aimed at the writers and the character assassination they had committed with Jen by making her their mouth piece. This isn't a Ghostbusters 2016 situation. 3. Baiting the trolls with bad writing isn't clever because in the end to the 90% of people who don't live on the internet and 5% of the ones that do just sees it for what it is: bad writing. It's like they held a gun to their foot. The people saw and went "hey don't point that at your foot you might shoot yourself. Aim it away and check the gun fool." They shoot themselves in the foot. "Omfg are you okay?! We told you not to do that! Are you crazy? You're a freaking idiot!" And with a bleeding foot they laugh "ha ha you see I shot myself in the foot on purpose because I knew you'd call me stupid! Get baited!"

Ya know what really depresses me is that we could've had a Hulk TV Series back in 2010 during phase 1 or 2 and it would've been directed by Guillermo-del-toro, and it would've been so incredible, the only reason we never got it was because Kevin Faige wouldn't have had direct control so he wouldn't permit it and ABC wanted to do AGENTS OF SHIELD and Cloak and Dagger instead so basically Hulk was stuck in limbo unable to get further on screen development which really saddens me.

@@dennydude yes it was made and it has 2 seasons. Also ABC wanted to do Jessica Jones before Netflix ended up doing it and pretty much all the Netflix shows were originally gonna crossover with Agents of SHIELD in one form or another but of course that never happened. But again the biggest takeaway for me is the fact we could've had an Incredible Hulk Series in The MCU which would've perfectly adapted the most iconic storylines from the comics and would fit between the Avengers Films untill we could get a Planet Hulk/World War Hulk Film. At least that's what I would've done

Pretty sure Universal owns the distribution rights, so the reason we haven’t had a hulk movie since the 2000s is because no one is allowed to make any hulk movies or tv shows besides them, he’s only allowed to be a side character which is how he’s able to be in the mcu in the first place. I think Disney is trying to get the rights atm (I hope for a planet hulk movie)
@DFGHulkOfficial
Жыл бұрын
@@monstxrblade Actually that's not exactly the case, Universal never fully owned the rights to any solo Hulk projects, when it comes to solo TV, Animation and Game rights those still belong to Marvel, as for the films while Universal has the right to say no to making a Hulk Movie Marvel could've still made Solo Hulk movies without Universal. Worst case scenario Universal gets salty if the film does well without them and they try making another deal with Disney or they try Sueing Disney which good luck with that. Marvel had every opportunity to make a Hulk Trilogy or Series but didn't because Disney doesn't want to share profits with Universal if they said yes to the movies and if Disney was interested at any point, then we would've gotten one. At this point I don't think I even want a Solo Hulk movie anymore because given the current state of writing and tone in storytelling I highly doubt that it would be serviceable, and they wouldn't even bother adapting World War Hulk or any of Hulk's good stories from the comics without making a big joke out of them or mashing them all in one mess of a film, at best we get an alternate Universe story that ends up getting erased because the tone of that story wouldn't fit the MCU we have today and if not that we end up getting a No Way Home style film which only exists to shut up fans for a bait and switch where they end up killing off Hulk somehow and we're left with Skar and She-Hulk and whatever storyline we wanted to see long term with Hulk is long gone despite the 60+ years of Incredible Stories from the source material that haven't been brought to life or were underwhelmingly put to screen. The Hulk is such an important massive Character whose popularity was only rivaled by Spider-Man for years before the MCU and now it seems like he's falling into obscurity which is just wrong given the legacy this character has and the multiple pop culture icons he's inspired. Sure, to some people it may seem like who cares as long as we get something that's good enough, but to me that's not good enough. We deserve way better than that. I could give you thousands of reasons and ideas on how and why Hulk needs a proper adaptation, it's not impossible nor is it that difficult to write a story that brings us that, I honestly think a Live Action TV Show set in the MCU during Phase 1 to now could easily work and be the perfect place to adapt the comics and place it between movies and then by phase 3 or 4 or whenever Marvel/Disney decides to make a World War Hulk Movie and or Hulk Trilogy ending with either Heart of The Monster or Immortal Hulk or whatever and have it be taken seriously and have great writing then we can rejoice.

What makes me cringe hard about Marvel shows and movies now is that... it's like they celebrate being badly done as if they're proud of it. It's like they're aiming to make the worst media ever and if Stan Lee see were to this, he would be ashamed. I admit Stan Lee could laugh at himself and did not mind lighthearted versions of his work and even encouraged, but never at the cost of great quality or having to put down other characters. In fact, that was something I always respected about his work and why he is an idol of mine. The man always put his best foot forward and never failed on purpose. Now, it's like everyone is making bad shows on purpose just for fun and this is a disgrace not just Marvel, but to themselves. I mean, you have a golden opportunity to make something great that your name is going to be on for the rest of your life. This is going to be a piece of your legacy as an artist. This is how people are going to remember you. I'm just saying.

They can make bad shows because they always put up some sort of shield to cover their ass. Some sort of ism or phobe when really there's too many shows and most of them are clearly rushed so they suck. We never asked for 20 shows in a 2 year time. Ironically they get pissed off because they want people to watch shows more than once. Yet when you have so many shows people aren't gonna do that.

Few days late but here's my take on this. THIS SHOW is what is wrong with modern writing. I like subverting as someone who writes as well.. I like the idea of not knowing where the story will go. I will even defend some aspects of The Last Jedi subverting plot.. but.... here's the thing about subverting... Subverting means adding something else of substance... and guess what She-hulk does as well as many other "Subvertive" writing like TLOU2 and The Last Jedi. They either DONT replace the subvertion... DONT follow up the subvertion or... DONT add anything that makes the subversion better.. It sets up ideas... but doesn't use them cause SUBVERSION...like a charater arc? Nah SUBVERTED HAHA! ... but what else is there then? Nothing? So I am going to dub this subversion culture. Changing the rules since the current rules SUCK.. but then not putting up any good new rules to follow by. It's the same as saying: "WE NEED TO GET RID OF THE POLICE CAUSE THEY BAD!" ...Okay but what replaces them? Nothing.. well I guess you don't mind anyone who disagrees with the law to walk over you. I see more and more people complaining about things and... then not giving a good replacment... and we see this in modern writing with I hate to say it "Wokeism" It's not that "Go woke" is a bad thing.. it's more or less pointless subverting and deconstruction without a pay off... The worst episodes of Rick and Morty have this as a joke... this show has it... The Last Jedi has it as subverting art... TLOU2 has it as... SUBVERTING ART! Heck even Teen Titans Go did it. But you know what... if by surprising someone and subverting is replace it with giving nothing... you get no applause in return. Congratulations... your art has gotten a reaction that is subverting too since no one is laughing and clapping... I am just so tired of seeing subvertion being used so terribly... as well as "wokeism" and "anti-incelism" it's being so poorly used while there are shows that do it MUCH BETTER and with MORE RESPECT! Ironicly the only people who loved this show are... mostly people who have delt with 4chan or corperations not caring about writers... I am not joking.. they gave the loudest applause. So in the end... what needs to end is... "STOP TRYING TO SUBVERT AUDIANCES EXPECTATIONS AND CALLING THEM OUT" It's done to fucking death and wasn't funny in the 1st place. If you wanna subvert correctly... add something else that's worth the pay off rather then mocking the audiance...

It was very obvious that they didnt know anything about law when the episode where She-Hulk sued Titania for trademarking "Shehulk". In trademark laws, which one can find out by LITERALLY GOOGLING HOW THEY WORK, the name of the trademark is what is owned. Literally anyone with access to google could learn that when it comes to trademark laws "Shehulk", "She-Hulk". and "She Hulk" are all three COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. That is why you can have someone in Spain running a "Tacobell/Taco-Bell" and not be able to be sued by "Taco Bell".

before finishing this video. I have to wonder why no one acknowledges the realism of Jenifer as a character when comparing her to the average western woman. Like people complain about her claiming she goes through more than men or bruce banner but I think we know that most women would claim they have it harder than a man if asked despite that basically being incorrect. What I think would be a much better plot is that in episode 1 Jen gets herself into some issues and is saved by Hulk, as in the comics, and once she finds out that due to the necessary Blood Transfusion to save her life she is now become a Hulk, and doesn't particularly enjoys the revelation and rejects the abilities, then after she gets into some trouble and Hulks out and causes unnecessary harm, she decides to go to Hulk for help, cue training montage, but instead of doing great at everything, she struggles until Hulk gets frustrated and switches to teaching her how to use an ability than he hardly ever uses because it's not that useful to him, however She-Hulk grasps that skill extremely quickly and quickly surpasses Hulk in that realm (said realm becoming her specialization) before using what she learned to help her learn basic skills, now she feels more confident, but not at the level where she feels able to do superhero stuff, but would rather just go back to her regular life, and she does that until Hulk gets himself into some shit and asks her to help, leading to her aiding in the fight, primarily using her specialization in some new ways, creating some nice narrative symmetry, Jen gets herself into trouble at the beginning, Hulk saves her, Hulk gets himself into trouble at the end and is saved by She-Hulk using a Ability that he isn't that good at and initially dismissed as generally not that useful. Then when it comes to episode 2 it can focus on her getting into Supernatural Law, and the rest of the season on continually struggling with the Legal System being woefully unequipped to handle Supers and her having to take them down herself outside of the law to make them see some semblance of Justice, before in the final episode she decides to set to work changing the system so it can actually deal with the legal issues that crop up when you have to deal with supers. From there in later seasons her changes can cause her to run into issues with supers who benefit from the current system being crap and therefore want to stop her from actually doing anything to change it and her having to defend herself and her ideas both legally and outside of the law.
