I hope SNES Rainbow Road doesn't return in any future Mario Kart installments, because it has been featured in too many games (Mario Kart Tour is the third Mario Kart in a row, as well as the fifth one overall, to feature SNES Rainbow Road). As for the Fake Item Box, this item hasn't been seen since Mario Kart Wii, and if it were to return, it would need a rework. I would personally make it so that it infects real Item Boxes instead of functioning like a worse Banana, and it will look almost exactly the same as a regular Item Box, but the only difference will be an upside-down question mark. Another thing is that it will infect adjacent Item Boxes overtime unless someone collides with it.

I wish the FIB was back in the way it was in 64 or DS. I hate that in Wii they made FIBs stick out like a sore thumb and the only real way to hit people with it is in narrow sections or hiding it in another item box.

@@hyphenhoikI would rework the Fake Item Box to be defenseless while being a unique trap and succeeding its purpose of tricking players. As it currently is, it's basically a worse Banana that fails its intended purpose of tricking the player into thinking it is the real deal. I would also like to mention that Wii made the item larger, which makes it even more obvious which one is the impostor. That's likely why the item hasn't come back from Mario Kart 7 onward. Speaking of items that haven't come back, I hope none of the items introduced in Wii (Mega Mushroom, POW Block, and Thunder Cloud) return for any future mainline Mario Kart game. The Mega Mushroom is just a worse Star that doesn't protect you from everything, and getting struck by Lightning while giant returns you to normal. The POW Block is a worse Lightning that appears far too frequently and only hits racers who are on the ground, which is a major problem considering how often you'll be airborne in Wii. Not to mention you can weaken the effect by pressing the trick button at the correct timing. The infamous Thunder Cloud may just be the single worst item in all of Mario Kart. It gives you a speed boost, allowing you to take off-road shortcuts for ten seconds. Sounds like a good thing, right? Well, it's what happens once the timer runs out that makes this item so bad. Once ten seconds pass, the Thunder Cloud will shrink the player who has it. You heard me correctly. This item actively *harms* the user more than it helps. You can get rid of it by bumping into another player, but that's easier said than done. I'm glad none of the Wii exclusive items have come back in any future installment.

The Coin is a usable item in the very first Mario Kart game, Super Mario Kart for the SNES. It returns as an item in Mario Kart 8.

I just hope the POW Block doesn't return, nor does the Thunder Cloud.
