I am not from this land, nor are any of my family or ancestors, but for the last 20 years of the 21 years of my life, I have called America home. I have traveled frequently back home to my native Ireland and I take great pride in where I’m from, but I understand why my family left the beautiful “Emerald Isle”. They came to settle here in the land of the free, the home of the brave. I am proud to call myself an Irishmen and just as proud to call myself an American patriot. God bless this great country. I’m not sure what my family would’ve done without the vast opportunities this country has afforded us. What a moving video, a simple, but great animation paired with an impeccable narration from THE Jocko Willik. Well done 👏 🇺🇸

Jocko has a way of getting right to it. Many of my brothers and sisters have gone on before me, I miss them and the days of our youth. As Bob Seger said, " We were young and strong, we were running against the wind ". We did this in places far from home, having put behind us the carefree days of our childhood to meet up in service to our nation. There are rare days when I am not reminded of them, our work and sacrifice together. I hope to see them all again on the other side, my family and friends with whom I shared much as they shared with me. Our youth was fleeting, our commitment to each other and the duty we all shared was not. God Bless them, and the Republic.

At just 23 he was a pilot, hard to believe, but men were men back in those days and of course prior to that. God bless each and every man and woman who have served and given their blood, sweat, and tears to protect this nation. I fear for our country now more than I ever have in my lifetime. If we must die, O let us nobly die, So that our precious blood may not be shed In vain; then even the monsters we defy Shall be constrained to honor us though dead! O kinsmen! we must meet the common foe! Though far outnumbered let us show us brave, And for their thousand blows deal one death-blow! What though before us lies the open grave? Like men we’ll face the murderous, cowardly pack, Pressed to the wall, dying, but fighting back!" by Claud McKay

But what you do not hear very often is that you have to continue to fight for this freedom. It's not a one and done deal. Each and every day, this freedom must be earned.

I sit here, in my home, with my family both close, and far away, having just celebrated my 60th year on this planet, and I remember. I remember my shipmates with whom I had the honor to serve. I remember my shipmates who were killed in accidents on training or actual deployments, or under other circumstances. I remember those who lie under markers the world over, or at the bottom of the seas, forever entombed with their brothers, or who are still listed as MIA. I remember those who went before me, who served with me, and who took our places when they answered the call, and who I fervently pray will return home in one piece. Captain Miller summed it up the best. "Earn this." I, for one, will always strive to be better, and remember.

I never tire of seeing this, as a 12 year Air Force veteran (Cold War/Desert Storm era) and a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, I have several flags and wreathes that I place for heroes. I wish that an appropriate greeting could be thought of for Memorial Day, which I've thought about a lot this year, after hearing "Happy Memorial Day" a couple of times. I know that it was given without any ill will, but for the small number of people in the country who either served and lost our brothers and sisters, or for family and friends who lost a loved one, it's not a happy occasion. Kacklin' Kamala couldn't even make mention of Memorial Day, tweeting "Have a great long weekend".... Yesterday, I heard Carl Higbie on Newsmax say something that really resonated with me by saying "if you want to thank us veterans, be a citizen worthy of us dying for". How profound is that, and so true? I'm hopeful for this country, by viewing comments of the younger viewers of PragerU, that we have finally reached the line of evil that others want to push us over, that my like minded citizens have had enough, and are finally fighting back. Stay strong, we will win this country back.

First I wanna say thank you to all those who served, have served and sacrificed. That said; I feel as though this generation stopped giving a care and it's disgraceful. I see and hear the beligerent nature of ignorance these kids spew and it's sickening. Always making excuses and never taking responsibility. The sheer entitlement and lack of gratitude makes me wonder if our constitution and country will hold up to the disregard Americans who did not serve show. I find myself wondering if it is worse then what Vietnam vets dealt with coming home. My father who was one of these vets isn't around anymore. Makes me think he lucked out. Everyone in my family including myself served, yet I feel that their memory is forgotten everyday.
