Taking a small detour off of shipping for a day, Welcome to Duluth! Following the whole route of I-35 through the city, from the outskirts to the freeway’s end. This includes the famous decent down the hillside, which everyone who visits Duluth for the first time always talks about. After hours of driving across flatland, the road drops and there’s the city and harbor all laid out in front of you!
Duluth also serves as the northern terminus of I-35, one of the longest continuous roads in the United States. It ends rather abruptly on the shores of Lake Superior, about halfway through the city. The southern end is on the Mexican border in Laredo, Texas, over 1,500 miles away.
Some landmarks visible in this video: the Duluth Hillside, the entire city of Superior in the distance, Duluth Harbor, the Bong and Blatnik Bridges, the CN Duluth ore docks, Great Lakes Fleet HQ, the Duluth grain docks and port terminal, Downtown Duluth, DECC, Great Lakes Aquarium and Bayfront Park, the Canal Park district including the Aerial Lift Bridge, the Duluth tunnels and the western tip of Lake Superior, plus a lot more of the city! Feel free to comment if you’d like to know what something in specific is in the video!
